Editorial Reviews

Explicit Version of Two CD set by Christopher Titus with his 2008 album, Norman Rockwell Is Bleeding on Comedy Central Records. Christopher Titus's breakout hit one man show, Norman Rockwell Is Bleeding, chroniciles Titus's remarkable rollercoaster life with tales of insanity, parental fist fighting, and then some really crazy stuff. The show is an hour and a half of unbelievably funny stories. Norman Rockwell Is Bleeding was the inspiration for the hit show Titus, and it showcases a comedian that Time magazine calls "brutal, hilarious and audacious."

This is one of the funniest comedy albums I've ever heard.
Morrell Jacobs III
By making us laugh at the dysfunctional family in which he grew up, he makes us laugh about our own; aqnd sometimes even together with our family.
David Seaman
Warning though some of his humor is very dark and intense but it's how he deals with pain in his life.

This is the full uncut version shown on Showtime heard here. Not sure why no DVDs have been made yet, but CDs will have to do for now. If you feel like you've heard it before, you have. I'm a big fan of Titus and this material will make you a fan. The bits titled "Last Girlfriend," "Bon Fire," and "Last Husband" are the greatest. A great line from Titus in this special is when he says, "You better lighten the **** up, because we're going a lot further than that tonight." Well said, Christopher. What I love about Christopher is how he's able to deal with such tragedy and shock with his humor.

Another hit for Christopher Titus! If you have a sense of humor or a messed up family, or survived a bad relationship, you have to listen to Christopher Titus! The only thing that would be better would be the DVD!

This is, hands down, one of the most powerful comedic performances ever. I was never a fan of the sitcom that this spawned, but Christopher Titus has my respect nonetheless.

I have been watching the same burned, reproduced, scratched, crapped out copy of this performance for FAR too long...I will purchase the audio copy, because I can see it all in my head, but for the person hearing it for the first time, so much is lost in not seeing Titus' facial expressions! Amazing timing, amazing personality, fantastic performance.
I can say this, which I have said many times in jest, in all seriousness: I laughed, I cried, it became a part of me.
Well done, indeed.

We need a DVD. Now.

Christopher Titus first caught my eye on the Comedy Network. He was able to take real life situations and laugh at them. I don't believe I've been this moved since I heard Mitch Hedburg, Lewis Black or Shelley Berman. So I began by purchasing Love Is Evol and laughed, laughed laughed as he spoke about truth but put it into perspective.

This recording marks a maturity that we've seen hints of during his solo moments on his FOX Television show. "Norman Rockwell Is Bleeding" is a brilliant title but only because we all know-and certainly Mr.Titus, that Rockwell, along with America, has always been bleeding. There's never been a time in history when children weren't abused; when adults with unmeasurable I.Q's didn't exist (God forbid she was a woman) who tripped over the line of sanity and insanity. The fact is that Mr. Titus makes us aware that we ALL step over this line, day after day. He does it by talking about himself and his own life, but we've all been there and done that. Mr.Titus gotg drunk and passed out in a bon fire; I got drunk and carried someone's clothing home after a quick run down a clothesline. I too had my fair shakedowns by my drunken father, my grandfather was a famous chemist who set the house and property on fire more than three times. Christopher Titus could tell these stories a LOT better than I because he's at peace with it all. He doesn't seem to carry the painful baggage of his mother's suicide or her multiple jailings. His father, a horny beer drinking man who lets nature teach his children, is almost endearing, though thankfully we never told the old man to go to hell. It's clear that he chose a string of unhealthy relationships, but we get the great image of her Fergammos sailing across the street.

This is Chris Titus' material from a cable special a few years back, but it's lost none of its humor in the intervening period. Chris manages to take family dysfunction and tragedy that would have any of us crying in a fetal position in the nearest corner, and instead turn it into something fantastically funny. It helps that I think he's clinically insane himself, but he turns that to his advantage, as well as the audience's. Abusive girlfriend, drunk dad, schizophrenic mom, are all there, wrapped up with frequent police involvement. And as Chris relates it, it's all very, very funny, while still being touching and at times dramatic. Listen to it, you'll like it. And stop being such a WUSSY!

Awesome CD! He tells hilarious stories of his childhood, his adolescence, his dysfunctional family, and most funny of all, his father. If you buy this CD I can almost guarantee that you will but his other three CDs. He's that funny. His satirical delivery is spot-on.

Titus's Norman Rockwell is Bleeding is by far one of his best bits. I almost fell over with his line "my mom is insane, I don't mean my mom is insane, I mean we the jury find the..." priceless. Then the bit about the bon fire what great timing on that, also his bit about his wife then last him talking about Insanity being genetic. Also for those out there who wonder about Normal Rockwell is Bleeding being out on dvd, I personally have this on dvd because of Comedy Central showing it late night one night long time ago. So for those looking to have this on dvd so you can see his facial expressions then go to Comedy Central site on internet and look at the comedians and find when they are playing it again on their channel. But worth every dollar to own this two cd set of his comedy bits.
Warning though some of his humor is very dark and intense but it's how he deals with pain in his life.
