Book Description

September 2000 8 and upGetting to Know the World's Greatest Artists
An excellent introduction to these celebrated artists and their work. Full colour pictures of actual paintings are enhanced by Venezia's clever illustrations and story line. Young readers will obtain a light-hearted, yet realistic overview of the artist's life. Mike Venezia believes that if children can learn about paintings in a fun way, and think of artists as real people, the exciting world of art will be open to them for the rest of their lives.

I have used Mike Venezia's Worlds Greatest Artist series for the past 5 years teaching the masters to grade school children. These books are relatable to children and informative! They are a great addition to any classroom or instructors library.

5.0 out of 5 stars great series, July 31, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is a great series for children to explore any and all of the artists in the series. The comics keep the children engaged, and there's always some tidbit that the children enjoy learning about the particular artist...something they'll always remember and talk about. Great introduction to well-known artists.
