5.0 out of 5 stars True Americanna, March 21, 2005
This review is from: Norman Rockwell's America (Abradale S.) (Hardcover)
Great book with 659 illustrations and biography of Norman Rockwell written by Christopher Finch. Rockwell's life span (1894 to 1978) is depicted in his paintings and illustrations including Saturday Evening Post, Boys Life and portraits of the United States Presidents of his time. He captured the every day events and human expressions in his unique style that is very heart warming. This is a true classic.

This review is from: Norman Rockwell's America (Abradale S.) (Hardcover)
Christopher Finch has captured Norman Rockwell's magnificent and intriguing use of art to compile a work of American History. Each painting featured in the book is an amusing, yet truthful look at American life in the early 1900's and on. This book is a must to have in any home library!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Rockwell book--recommend above others, May 6, 2008
This review is from: Norman Rockwell's America (Abradale S.) (Hardcover)
I like this book for the excellent quality of prints throughout. I also has several fold-out prints that could be used for framing, and a lot of prints that I have not seen before in other books. Nice.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great collection, excellent prints/photos, good stories, June 30, 2010
This is a great book, prints of paintings, drawings, Saturday Evening Post covers, and some private collection photos.

If you remember seeing Norman Rockwell's paintings, this would be the biggest collection of them in one place that you will find.

The quality of the print is first rate, highly colorful. I posted a few photos of my copy.

This is a collector's item in my view, a great coffee table book, and fun to browse and read.

Love flipping through this coffee table book with my two kids who enjoy it as well. They get to connect with a bygone era of Americana, whose lessons and experiences are becoming increasingly difficult to enjoy.

4.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable Read, September 7, 2011
This review is from: Norman Rockwell's America (Abradale S.) (Hardcover)
This is a really fun book for any Norman Rockwell fan. The author/photographer keys the reader in one some of Rockwell's absolute best work and then recreates the scenes in our times. The thesis being that Norman Rockwell's America is still alive and kicking today (maybe it's a little tucked away). Any fan of Rockwell's work will enjoy seeing his top shots and engaging with the humanity of his art. Further, in today's troubling times, the author's efforts to show the reader that the ideal America is still out there to be found and had are reassuring and comforting.
