Ten Reasons to Own a Normandy Guitar
  1. The Look – From the classic arch top curves of the body, to the vintage Bigsby-vibrato tailpiece, to the distinctive rivets front and back, there is simply no other guitar like it.
  2. The Sound – The resonant, aircraft-grade aluminum body produces smooth, warm tones that ring true and long. Sustain is increased significantly when compared to that of a conventional wooden guitar body.
  3. The Feel –The Normandy weighs 8.6-pounds, which is roughly the same (or less) than most other electric guitars. It maintains perfect balance when on a strap, and is so accommodating that you may just be able to go at it all night.
  4. The Durability – This is a deceivingly solid piece of equipment.  You may be able to snap the neck, but the body will stand up to the most aggressive punk-inspired outbursts.
  5. The Neck – Our maple-on-maple and rosewood-on-maple necks are shaped close to what you would find on an old-school jazz guitar – not too fat…not too thin.
  6. The Pickups – Normandy Old School-Humbuckers with Alnico 5 magnets are overwound to 12K ohms for higher output, powerful midrange and driving tone.
  7. The Craftsmanship – Normandy Guitars are made one at a time with quality and durability as our foremost concerns; they are built to stand the test of time from one gig to the next.
  8. The Finish – The Chrome guitar is triple-electroplated, the School Bus and Army Green guitars are powder coated using a special baked-on finish and the Candy Apple Metal Flake finishes are far superior to the standard paint, stain, or varnish typically found on guitars.  Whatever the color, the appearance will outshine that of any guitar you’ve ever seen.
  9. The Service – Normandy offers a warranty against defective materials and workmanship for the life of the guitar (check with the vendor for details).  Normandy takes pride in every one of their instruments playing its very best right out of the box.
  10. Add it all up  –  Custom, boutique styling and quality that every player can afford.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best New Electric Guitar in Years, September 12, 2009
By
This review is from: Normandy ATGHT-AG Archtop Guitar, Powder Coated, Army Green (Electronics)
OK, check this out. The first thing that caught my eye was the army green color. So, I pick up the guitar and it's a hollow body made of aluminum! Genius.
Brought it home, plugged it in and instead of playing on it for hours, I put it back in it's case because once i get started working on this baby, I won't be able to stop. The potential of tone widths are endless. The solid feeling Bigsby Tail wham (which I normally would despise) makes sense on a metal guitar, Think about it.
Anyway, as with all my guitars, once I do my regular personal tweaks and maybe ask Normandy to make me a very old school style neck (my main baby is a 65 Tele), I may be the happiest man in the world. Get one of these now. Incredible color and finish choices (my pal Dave Catching got the chrome one), because I guaranty that in about 20 years these will be selling for $25,000. A GREAT guitar. haven't had time to customize it yet, but I'll still be using it on an upcoming tour. Well done Normandy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome, February 4, 2009
This review is from: Normandy ATGHT-AG Archtop Guitar, Powder Coated, Army Green (Electronics)
This is the most amazing guitar I have ever played... the sound quality was astounding. And the way people looked at me when I pulled out my Normandy and jammed was incredible. Anyone who thinks they are a real guitar player needs to get a Normandy and see what a real, hand crafted guitar can do.
