All I can say is "WOW"! I love making cakes & cupcakes but completely dread sifting two lbs. of conf. sugar for two batches of icing, mainly due to the time it takes and the fatigue that quickly sets in. I swear this sifter cut my sifting time down by 95% and all I had to do was hold it over a bowl!!! I'd definitely give this item an A+++++++!

I have arthritis in my hands. It's painful to squeeze on a manual flour sifter. This battery operated one works to perfection, just push the button and the rest is automatic. Great product.

Not a really necessary item, but easy and fun to use. The battery has a very long life. WOULD RECOMMEND FOR ANYONE WITH HAND PROBLEMS.

I purchased this for my wife who does a lot of cakes. I thought it would save a bit of time and keep her hand from getting tired before she has to frost. It works as designed but if you fill the hopper all the way up it stops working. Seems to be because the motor is not that strong. Also this is far from fast compared to the hand crank version she has. So if you get this just understand that about half full will work well but is not fast and if you get clumps in the hopper the blades will not catch them like a manual version will.

I decorate cakes for friends and family and make my own frosting. Before I purchased this product, I had been manually sifting two to four pounds of confectioners sugar and it would take me 30 min to 1 hour to do. I was finally so tired of having to spend this much time and arm power so I looked on Amazon for an electric sifter and came across this one. I sift my sugar in under 10 minutes now, I put about three cups of sugar in at a time and it does a great job at sifting the sugar. You do have to hold it over a bowl or put it on a paper towel before you put anything in it since it doesn't come with a lid for the bottom of the sifter but that is minor in the scope of the amount of time and energy this product has saved me. I have used for sifting other dry ingredients such as flour, baking power, & baking soda for other recipes, and it sifts those ingredients well too. I would recommend this for anyone who does a lot of baking and is tired of feeling like their hand is going to fall off with the manual sifters!

it is a little loud but gets the job done without making your arm tired like old school sifters.

I gave this sifter four stars because it is so cheaply made that I don't think it could have cost the manufacturer more than $5 to produce it. However, SURPRISINGLY it gets five stars for making quick and easy work of sifting for anyone who has hand or wrist problems. All you do is attach the handle, insert the one AA battery, put in the ingredients, and turn it on. It sifted 2 cups worth of flour and sugar in less than one minute.

When you are done, jusk shake or dust out the unit, remove the battery (if you are storing for a long time), detach the handle (if you want the unit to take up less space) and store the handle in the cup then seal the cup with the cover.

It's simple, quick, and easy. However, I do wish this unit were better made; but since it's the only automatic sifter I could find on the market, it's great.

There are pros/cons with this device.

Cons:
1. Battery Operated. This is really a pro & con. But, if it were electric - I wouldn't need to worry as much about going to use it, and the battery being worn down (and I don't have a spare on hand), etc.

2. You'll need to be careful about only filling the sifter approximately 1/2 way. Otherwise, it's too heavy for the weak motor.

Pros:

1. Battery Operated! It has saved my hands/wrists. I have carpul tunnel in both hands, and sifting used to be such a chore - very painful at times. With this device, there are no more worries.

2. Once it does get to the level at which the battery can handle it (about 1/2 way, or a little more perhaps)- it sifts very quickly - even with the motor being fairly weak.

I would highly recommend this product. It's helped me tremendously.
