We bought it for rolling out pizza dough, but have used it to roll out cookie dough and pie crust as well.

I am thrilled with this tool! I don't bake every day, but I like to do it sometimes - I use my great-grandmother's recipes (which I got from my Mom) and so I deal with yeast doughs, quick-bread doughs, but also like to make pizza and anything else (because anything you make at home comes out better than buying it).

Anyway, my Mom is old-school and prefers to work by hand. I thought I needed a rolling pin - I've used plastic ones before - they're a pain. Then I saw this neat little roller - what a blast. It thins out the dough effortlessly, with almost no arm effort. The smaller roller is great for filling in corners. I made 2 rolls yesterday (poppy-seed and apricot-walnut) and also made 2 braided brioche loaves. A board covered with wax paper (for easy cleanup), a dough cutter/scraper and this roller is all I need! I use my bread maker machine to knead the dough (saves time) and only do the final kneading by hand.

It's so easy that I was making my dough too thin at first, had to adjust my technique :)

I wipe it with mineral oil (like I do my end grain chopping block) - to keep it from cracking in the future. Wash it with just running water (no soap needed).

The metal wire feels really sturdy, the whole tool feels really solid (and you really don't need much pressure on it).

I will say: the wood COULD be smoother polished, but at this price I won't complain. Hopefully it'll smooth out from use. But I had zero sticking issues. Ideally though the wood should've been finished with something like walnut oil.

I had been using a plastic cup to roll out my pizza dough and decided I needed something a bit more substantial. Because the price was so reasonable, I bought two of these rollers to keep the peace among my children. I made sure to wash them, let them dry then rubbed them with vegetable oil. I think the oil made a big difference as dough hardly stuck to it. I recommend this pastry pizza roller!

I am absolutely terrible at rolling. With a big pin I end up with overly thin areas and thick areas. With this, I can control it. And the grandkids can manage it easily. I can't think of the last time I pulled out my big roller. I just have no need.

This handy roller is pretty sturdy and works well for many applications. We bought it for rolling out pizza dough, but have used it to roll out cookie dough and pie crust as well. I prefer this roller to the conventional rolling pin because of how much control you have over the pressure applied to roller and the size/dual rollers allows you to use it in smaller areas (i.e. directly on a pizza pan).

I make a lot of cinnamon rolls. I broke my Norpro roller (the large end detached) so I thought this one would be better as it looked like the metal goes all the way through. Unfortunately the two pieces of metal that go through the handle disconnected from each other &/or the wood and now the who,e thing swivels around when I try to use it. Back to the search for one that is made for a more serious user....

My husband and I make pizza twice a week and use this to roll out our 100% whole wheat crust. Before we purchased this little piece of work we had used the same roller for 3 years. We used this for about two months before it broke. Basically, we got what we paid for.

This is a great little kitchen gadget. We love pizza in our household, so this comes in handy. I like that it has both a larger and a smaller size. For the price, you can't beat it! I wish the wood was sealed, as the surface has become more rough after several washings. But, it still does its job!

I purchased this product six months ago specifically for rolling pizza dough. First of all, this roller is very sturdy. I have used it for store-bought dough only, both white dough and whole wheat dough, different brands. I have never had a problem with this device. I only need to apply a tiny bit of flour to the wooden rollers to keep the dough from sticking. I generally also coat the dough itself with a tiny bit of flour to keep it from sticking to my counter-top. I use the larger roller first, to do a basic job on the dough, then use the smaller roller to get the sides of the dough into the edges of the pan, which it does extremely well. It seems to be shaped perfectly for this purpose. Both rollers clean up easily by running water over them and rubbing them a little. I would not suggest using anything abrasive on the rollers; just a sponge or equivalent is all that is needed.
