I don't own any other graters, but I've used this to grate my very first whole nutmeg. The end-product was ground powder. Works wonderfully. I thought the little container at the top was too small for my nutmeg, but it fit like a charm. No complaints. I am happy with it.

the design of this grater is very nice. the fact that the nutmeg can be stored inside the grater makes it easy and convenient to use.

I purchased this as a replacement for a similar one I have had for years that finally wore out! I couldn't find one at any local kitchen supply store, so I went looking online. The very nice thing about the Norpro is the plastic compartment at the top (compared to my old metal one) for storage of the whole nutmeg. The teeth are very sharp and they do a nice job when fresh nutmeg is needed. It also has a little hole at the top so I can easily hang it up in my cabinet!

I purchased this for my daughter when she saw my Nutmeg Grater. WE both love the fact it has a small space to hold a single nutmeg for grating. Fresh nutmeg makes a huge difference in taste and this grater makes using fresh nutmeg convenient and easy.

Only complaint is that you can't take it apart so it is hard to get out all the nutmeg gratings or clean it.

This grater is really great at producing a fine texture which is what I prefer for baking and adding to my coffee. I do like the little storage partition at the top for the nutmeg. I do recommend it but it is pricey if you have to pay shipping. It wasn't available in my area.

For the price, this nutmeg grater works well. I thought it grated the nutmeg in slightly bigger pieces than an older one I had but for the few times a year I use fresh grated nutmeg, this is all I need. If nutmeg is a frequent spice you use, I would invest in a better one. It houses the nutmeg in the top which is nice.

Recieved it promtly. it's a basic tool. We were concerned when we were told it may not get hear until after Xmas but it made it.

Easy to use (most important to me). Small enough for storage but not to small for a guy with big hands. Storage on top is good size too, and the little rubber grip on bottom was more useful than I thought it'd be.

This product actually does as it should and very handy! Don't use the storage container part, but shape and style make for neat, easy grating.
