Norpro 5-Inch Ceramic Garlic Keeper

This was even nicer than I had expected, about 3 inches high at the shoulder and 4 inches across, it is big enough to hold six full heads of garlic. It came through the dishwasher okay and is more pleasant to look at than a clay keeper.

This product looks great on my counter and is effective at prolonging the life of my garlic. Amazingly, it arrived with no breaks or chips despite the fact that it was poorly packed by the manufacturer (just a thin cardboard box with no padding). The only real gripe I have is that the lid does not sit flush on the top of the keeper. The hole at the top of the keeper is not perfectly round so the lid sits tilted to one side. This does not take away from the effectiveness of the product since garlic requires air circulation, but it detracts from its aesthetic qualities - one of the reasons why I picked this particular product in the first place. If it were not for the flawed lid, I would have given this product a five-star rating.

I didn't expect this thing to make too much of a difference from my old ridiculous method of storing bulbs in a stoneware mug, but wow! Garlic now lasts months and months. I am impressed. It holds a lot more garlic than I used to buy. Notice that I said, "Used to buy?" I have found myself brave enough to buy a lot of garlic now, knowing that it'll be there to use whenever I need it to be. The keeper's very pretty and I wish it came in other colors for gifts for people with varied kitchen color schemes.

I'm really glad to have this garlic keeper. It's a perfect size. However, I purchased 2 keepers as gifts and they were both chipped. Amazon quickly replaced them even though I didn't expect them to. I had only filled out the exchange forms to find out what it would cost me to exchange them. Unfortunately, the replacements were badly chipped, also. So, I would highly recommend this garlic keeper, but ONLY if you can find it in a local store and that is why I'm only rating this with 3 stars. If it weren't for the chipped garlic keepers, I rate with 5 stars.

The first one I received was broken, but Amazon.com had a new one in the mail the next day... It is great! Not overly decorated and not obtrusive. The keeper stores my garlic and keeps it fresher.

I owned a garlic keeper years ago and it somehow disappeared. I was so excited to see this Norpro Garlic Keeper that I snatched it up right away.

This is a great way to store garlic on the counter. The garlic is always handy when I am cooking and when I am not cooking the keeper sits there looking pretty.

It is smaller than the one I used to have, but it still holds about four heads of garlic. This will vary depending on the size of the garlic heads, of course. In case anyone is worried, no the house doesn't smell like garlic.

I use a lot of garlic and prefer the cloves but I can't run to the store every time I need some so I usually buy three heads at a time. Unfortunately, it would go bad before I could use it up so I purchased the Norpro Garlic Keeper. It has saved me money by keeping my garlic usable for a long time. It is also a pretty addition to my kitchen counter and a conversation piece to those who see it. I'm very happy with this garlic keeper and suggest that anyone who cooks with a lot of garlic and has trouble keeping it fresh to purchase it. It's money well spent.

This is the only garlic keeper I have had that is big enough to keep more than a few cloves of garlic!! I love it!! I have 2 heads of garlic & 3 shallots in it at the moment & room for a bit more!

The garlic keeper arrived in great condition. It was packaged very well and it looks good sitting on the counter. This will hold 3-5 garlic bulbs easily.

I've had several garlic jars and always seem to break them way too soon. This one is larger than the others and the quality is much better. Someone had mentioned that their top was off round and I expected a cheap knock off. I was surprised to find when the jar arrived that the quality was very good including the glaze with no bumps. I just hope it lasts longer than my other ones. This time I've taken the precaution to tie a string from the top to the jar in hopes of keeping it as long as the jar.
