I tried to purchase a corn butterer, but the Butter Boys were backordered. So, desperate in the face of a local bumper crop of corn coming in daily, I ordered the Nordic "Norpro". Sorry, it just didn't do the job. The shaft attached to the piece which pushes the butter down onto the corn is way too short, so you can only push it down so far, and then you have to open the butterer, retrieve the butter and continue buttering with a knife, just as you would if you didn't have a corn butterer. Very disappointing and totally worthless - if it had cost another $1.00, I'd be demanding my money back. As it is, my Butter Boy showed up, so I threw the Nordic "Norpro" away and now buter my corn with ease!

this is MUCH larger than your normal stick of butter. Therefore it's hard to use and doesn't really work well :(
