5.0 out of 5 stars This particular Bacon Press alone is worth the price!
I have had this very Bacon Press for many years and I would not trade it for anything. I have seen others that are "flimsy" in comparison. I have never used it to cook bacon, though I'm sure it works well. I use it for "grilling" bagels in my Lodge fry pan. 3.0 out of 5 stars bacon press
I wanted a press for pork chops for a long time. When I saw this one I jumped in. For Bacon it's fine, but I would not recomend it for meat, since it's lightweight, if it was a pound heavier it would be a great product for me.

I have had this very Bacon Press for many years and I would not trade it for anything. I have seen others that are "flimsy" in comparison. I have never used it to cook bacon, though I'm sure it works well. I use it for "grilling" bagels in my Lodge fry pan. Heat the pan, melt a "pat" of butter, slice the bagel, put the exposed surfaces of the bagel face down in the pan and set the Bacon Press on top. You won't believe how quickly and evenly it toasts the bagel surface to perfection, while leaving the rest soft and fresh. Hot, delicious and ready for any toping of your choice. Now that, my friend, is how to eat a bagel!!

5.0 out of 5 stars I love these!, October 22, 2003
This review is from: Norpro Cast Iron Bacon Grill Press and Egg Ring Set (Kitchen)
if you like bacon and eggs, especially together on an english muffin, this is the thing to get. The egg rings are easy to use, and the bacon press makes thin straight crunchy bacon which is exactly how I like it. My only suggestion is get a square pan. The bacon press does work around the edges of a curved pan so you don't have much space to work with.

Works as advertised. Couldn't be any happier with the egg rings and bacon press.

1.0 out of 5 stars Egg Rings Don't Work, Press is Too Small, December 14, 2009

The egg rings don't actually work. Drop an egg in there, and no matter how hot the skillet is or how hard you press down on the handle, the egg leaks out the sides. And trying to clean the egg out of the little gap where the handles swivel is virtually impossible. Also, although I did not bother trying the bacon press after my disappointing attempt to use the egg rings, it clearly is not large enough to cover most standard strips of bacon.

3.0 out of 5 stars It's okay, May 24, 2008

The egg rings you must spray down or put something on it. the egg stuck to the inside of the ring...lesson learned. the bacon press is way too short to use on bacon. Im not sure how its suppossed to keep bacon flat if it doesnt even reach the ends of the bacon. However, it is perfect for burgers to keep them flat. I would recommend, but not sure if its really worth it.

Does what it's designed to do.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Results!, May 28, 2007
This review is from: Norpro Cast Iron Bacon Grill Press and Egg Ring Set (Kitchen)
After reading many reviews of using a bacon press, I finally ordered one. I couldn't believe that it would really make a difference in taste of the bacon, though liked the idea of flattening it for even cooking without the meat curling up on me. Amazingly, the end result was a better tasting bacon. Perhaps it because of the cooking process as it cooks more evenly and does not dry out as much, really not sure why, but I am now a believer. The bacon press is well worth the small investment. I went with the wooden handle so it would be easy to use since it does not get hot during use.

Love the grill press! it even looks cute with the little piggy on it. The egg rings - well, the eggs stick to them no matter what, and they are not heavy enough - egg oozes out, so they're kind of pointless. But they were cheap so no big deal, since they were a filler item for this order.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow! Bacon Press Magic!, July 3, 2003

Since childhood, I've been one of the more vocal proponents of the bacon press. The strong linear correlation between the disappearance of the bacon press and the decline of Western Society is not to be ignored. So when I start complimenting bacon presses, it is not without some fairly extensive reflection on the matter.

This family consumes more than its share of bacon, such that we go through at least one (sometimes two!!) bacon presses per year, just through everyday wear-and-tear. How I missed this stunning combination for so long is beyond me, but consider me a convert! I mean...this thing presses!

I don't need to explain to you the myriad ways in which these two products can be used together - if you found this review, you already know. The traditional "Press & Ring" fusion dish in my family is, of course, egg pig ring pressies (sounds like "Orangy") - and this product makes these easier, faster and tastier than ever before.

I think they might let me see my kids again! Thanks, Norpro!
