I had a can under my sink for compost collections. However, it was hard to get to and I kept forgetting about it. This item looks fine on the counter and is a constant reminder to use it. I now find myself collecting a lot more. There is no odor and it is easy to clean.

I have been trying to become "greener". So, with having a garden, I have started composting. This ceramic composter works great for a family of 3 to 4 for a weeks worth of veggies/coffee filters/etc. And likely more often emptying if you eat more fruit and veggies! I empty it into a larger composter outside when it gets full. Purchase the carbon filters, they do help with the odor.

This product is insanely well made, heavy, reliable, easy to use, and looks great! It masks odor like you wouldn't believe! Honestly, I feel like I could compost a rotten egg, onion, and Limburger cheese omelet without worrying about the odor. In short, I wish my garbage hid the odor as well s this unit!

I have been using tupperware to hold my garbage. It didn't look too good and it sure didn't smell too good. This compost pail holds a weeks worth,and the filter does not allow oders to escape. Buy disposable bags at the same time,that will save you a bit of scrubbing.
