Norpro Grip-EZ 10x12 Cutting Board

I was looking for a flat board with a well around the perimeter to keep liquids from running off (plus small enough to fit in the bottom of my sink so I could soak it in bleach to clean). This has been perfect. Also, the four corners are somewhat "rubberized" and prevent it from sliding around when you're using it.

This is a great board- sturdy, nice sized (although maybe a couple inches smaller than expected) and the non-slip corners are excellent!! They actually do work well to grip the counter as you slice or chop. The perimeter well work for a little liquid, but juicy meats may make it overflow. The size is what I would call "medium small". It is perfect for throwing 2 steaks, chicken breasts, tuna steaks, etc. onto to carve. The material is the thick white plastic that is commonly used in these cutting boards, but a bit nicer and more opague then I have seen elsewhere. I wash it in the dishwasher and it comes out great.

This is a good no frills cutting board with a semi-soft surface. I'm please with my purchase and would get the bigger version if I plan on cutting whole chicken more often.

PROS:
+ Nice shape and size. Not narrow like some boards out there, and no handle holes that take up usuable cutting space. Size is good for cutting small to medium jobs ..ie veggies, fruits, small meats.
+ Rubber corners are REMOVABLE. Means that you can pull them off and clean the crevices. Also can remove before placing in hot washing machine. Easy to put back in place.
+ Rubber corners are slightly thicker than the rest of the board. When placed on a flat surface, either side of the board will be suspended, cushioned, and held firmly in place. Somewhat helps prolong your knife edge.
+ Small groove around entire perimeter to catch juices (one side only). Other side has slight chamfer angles to allow fingertips to cusp the bottom and lift the board up.
+ Surface is semi-soft and glossy. I say semi-soft because the board is pretty stiff, but already after some chopping there are small scratches on the surface = easier on knife edge. I say glossy because running water seamlessly glides over the board like it is being repelled.

CONS:
- Rubber corners are REMOVABLE. They can get dislodged and potentially misplaced. Can allow food to get trapped over time. My OXO cutting board has the rubber grip fused with the board (but cannot remove before placing in washing machine).
- Surface is semi-soft. It is normal to see scratches on the board right away (too hard a surface damages your knives), but you must wash more carefully to remove bacteria inside the grooves.
- The grooves that collect juices are very shallow and do not collect that much.

I use this when preparing sandwiches. Having a household where more than one is using counter top, this is handy for having a really clean solid surface to work on. Also good for preparing salads.
