In order for this slicer to work effectively, you have to cut off the ends of the fruit (provides safe and secure bottom that won't slip, and the slicer can sink into the level top of the fruit), then initially rock the slicer back and forth, and then push straight down. Voila! Nicely cored, even slices. Can do bloomin' onions if you don't push the slicer all the way down.

This slicer is the best idea ever! I brought it to a get-to-gether the other weekend, and all of my friends were impressed! I've used it on watermelon, cantalope and pineapple. You have to use a little muscle, but if you cut off the ends and then rock the fruit back and forth- it works great. It slices fruit perfectly, so the slices look beautiful on a fruit tray... much better and less time than slicing by hand.
