4.0 out of 5 stars Make Breakfast Fun!
Kids enjoy eating pancakes and fried eggs that are cooked in different shapes. As well, these Norpro Nonstick Flower Pancake/Egg Rings (set of two) could be used to make some fanciful additions to a special brunch menu.

3.0 out of 5 stars Egg rings
Not bad but some of egg will run under the ring but can't be helped I suppose . Perhaps if they had lined the bottom of the ring with something soft it might act like a 'gasket' & kept the egg inside of the ring -who knows?

Kids enjoy eating pancakes and fried eggs that are cooked in different shapes. As well, these Norpro Nonstick Flower Pancake/Egg Rings (set of two) could be used to make some fanciful additions to a special brunch menu.

These rings have small wooden handles, which fold down for easy storage, that you can hold while you pour in a 1/4-cup of thick pancake batter. I would use a measuring cup with a pour spout. For eggs, I would carefully break one egg at a time into the measuring cup and then pour it into the ring. Be sure to use a seasoned or nonstick griddle or frying pan, at the proper temperature. Also, use a large nonstick spatula. You may want to lightly butter or oil the inside of each ring.

Since these rings come in a set of two, I recommend buying several sets, so that everyone can eat at the same time! These rings can be used to cut shapes out of dough, too. Be sure to hand wash them with a mild liquid detergent.

4.0 out of 5 stars can use it for both eggs, and pancake, May 2, 2008

Used it for both eggs, and pancakes. It works fine for pancakes with a little of the mix coming out of the sides. As for eggs well it is worse, so now I cook the eggs, put'em in the dish, and then try to cut with the ring.

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice for kids, need a teflon coating..., March 22, 2008

My daughter (5) liked the pancakes and eggs made with these molds, although the novelty wears off fast. The problem I found wih the molds is that the food tends to stick, no matter how many times you butter (or oil) the mold. Also, the star shaped mold is very difficult to clean, due to its shape (sharp corners).

3.0 out of 5 stars not so pleased, July 5, 2011

We bought these and some silicone ones at the same time. I love the silicone ones so much more. These have to be sprayed with no-stick spray or washed EVERY time you do a pancake/egg. It's such a pain! The silicone ones just work. I suppose the one advantage that these have over the silicone ones is that they can also be used as shapers for sandwiches. My kids love that. We could do that with regular cookie cutters though. I will never buy metal pancake/egg rings ever again.

2.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't hold eggs!, December 11, 2011

This product should have a few basic functions. It needs to be non-stick or attest not be sticky when it's greased, and be flat such that it holds the contents that are poured into it. It fails on the latter. I've spent 15 mins trying to get it to a point where it just barely works to hold eggs in when one is poured into it from the shell. Definitely not worth the time. I would not recommend this to anyone.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not a good one as I thought, December 6, 2011

This is funny shape but actually larger than a normal egg, so this would cause egg to flow under it and not a shape at last. And hard to clean too!! Don't buy it or choose a smaller one. Although most fry pan's bottom are not flat so hard to keep the shape unless you put eggs(I mean more than one egg) first and the use this product to cut.

These are very easy to use. Don't forget to spray them with cooking spray before use, or you'll have a mess on your hands, but sprayed and the pancakes slide right out of the mold.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great for Pancakes not for Eggs, August 30, 2011

This review is from: Norpro Nonstick Star and Flower Pancake Egg Rings, Set of 2 (Kitchen)
I don't recommend these for eggs but I do for pancakes! The eggs will slip through the rings and will stick to the sides. The egg will stick even if you use a lot of pam on the rings to prevents it. However, pancakes come out great with these rings :)
