Pastry crimper works as stated. My purpose in buying was find a tool that would seal ravioli. Works great!

We bought this pastry crimper based on another review that I had read. The reviewer pretty much said this was the best one around and it worked amazingly. Well, they were right. This is such a great crimper for making raviolis! Would absolutely recommend!

While trying to make ravioli, I found it hard to cut my dough completely with this tool. I'm not sure if my dough is too "tough" or what. I made the pasta following a recipe, and I rolled out the dough to about 1/8" thick. But basically, I would have to go over my lines because the wheel won't cut all the way through, thereby creating imperfectly crimped edges.

I recently purchased a Wilton Pastry Wheel (the kind with two wheels), so I'll have to compare. Now, I see the rationale in having the other "pizza-cutter" wheel in case things don't cut through with the first stroke!

This crimper is very shoddily made. The wheel does not stand strait and does not cut right.
