5.0 out of 5 stars Pancakes: YES! ... Eggs: YES, BUT...
While the product quality is good, these 3 shapes are REALLY large. Much larger than I anticipated. The circle is 5-1/8 inch in outside diameter, and 4-5/8 inch inside diameter. I think this is really too large for a single egg (unless you use a jumbo egg)....maybe two eggs would be more like it. Great for a pancake, though. The circle is way too big for cooking an egg...

3.0 out of 5 stars I don't use them anymore.
I was looking for an egg ring and these were pretty inexpensive.

I thought the flexible silicone would have prevented leaks on uneven heating surfaces but the egg still runs out of the sides sometimes.

The edges could be a little higher to prevent spill over with pancakes.

I think this is really too large for a single egg (unless you use a jumbo egg)....maybe two eggs would be more like it. Great for a pancake, though. The circle is way too big for cooking an egg for an english muffin sandwich, or even a large hamburg roll. The star would be OK for a single egg, or a smaller pancake, but the heart too large for an egg....again, OK for a pancake.

These work great for pancakes and eggs - they are a little larger than your typical fast food egg sandwich size, and they could be just a little taller so things don't overflow, but nothing sticks to them and they are easy to pop in the dish washer...overall a great value!

Maybe they could be a little taller, because sometimes, if you dont take care your pancake batter will overflow, but still makes great shape and good sized pancakes and is also very nice for eggs. They are really nonstick and easy to wash! Great value.

These things are great! We use them everytime we make pancakes. They are so easy to turn when one side is done. One thing though, we have a large family and make many pancakes at a time. After a few fillings, they do have more of a tendency to stick to the finished pancake. I don't know if this is due to our recipe we usually use (oatmeal pancakes) or just the way they are. I solve it with a litte oil wiped on with a paper towel or a spray-on oil. The children love shaped pancakes so these make it fun! Highly recommend!

These look just like the picture shows. They are soft and pliable. They work as a mold but don't expect them to double as cookie cutters or anything.

Another reviewer commented on their size and yes, they are big. I LIKE the large size because I use these primarily for pancakes but I can see how they would be too large for one egg- you'd be better off beating several eggs together like for scrambled eggs and then pouring into the mold.

Works better than a cookie or biscuit cutter for pancakes- the batter doesn't stick to the silicone. The kids love 'em.

4.0 out of 5 stars Norpro Silicone Ring Set, January 19, 2010

Our griddle is a bit uneven so the pancake batter will not make circular shapes. I searched out a product solution and found the Norpro Silicone 3-piece Ring Set. They really work well. They stay in place, are easy to flip and lift off of the batter or eggs, and the bonus -- they can go into the top rack of the dishwasher!

The shapes are fun. The star shape takes less batter than the other two because it tends to plump up a bit making for a very fat pancake. After you cook the star pancake, put it on a platter and pull the ring off. The circle and heart shapes can be removed once the batter is set on both sides and they are still cooking, but if you remove star too early, the points tend to break.

NOTE: If you do put them into the dishwasher, be sure they are "hooked" onto a prong and weighted down with the edge of a cup so they don't fall down into the basin. They are very flexible.

I like them so much for their ease of use, I am going to tell my readers about them on [...].

4.0 out of 5 stars 2 out of 3 work well, April 18, 2011

The heart and circle work great. I spray them with some nonstick spray, and my pancakes come out fine. Without the non-stick, sometimes they'll stick at the edges, but it's easy enough to pop them out of the flexible molds.

The star one I honestly find to be rather useless. I always have issues with my pancakes sticking to it and/or tearing when I flip them. Not to mention that I don't really see any point in having a star-shaped pancake. At least the heart is cute for special occasions.

Since the molds are silicone, I don't have to worry about scratching up my pans or griddle. And they're reasonably easy to clean up.

If they had a set with 3 circles and/or hearts, I'd recommend it over this. But for the price, I might pick up another set and just leave the stars in a drawer.

I bought them to add some fun to breakfast. They are easy to use and easy to clean. I really don't need the circle one for pancakes, but it came with the others and the price was good so...

I love the idea of these but I cannot get the eggs to stay inside the form. I made sure the pan was heated well enough and the egg still leaked out. Pancakes work OK.
