It's easy to clean and dishwasher safe.

The size of this funnel makes for much less mess/splashing, and it fits regular mouth or wide mouth jars, which is great.

This is well made and the silicone strainer works great!

I purchased this funnel for canning but I also have been using it for filling bags while vacuum sealing and adding drink mixes to canisters. The wider mouth is perfect for using ladles with. The outside of the Funnel is polished stainless but the inside is brushed. The bottom lip edge is slightly rounded under (in) which seems to help with splashing up and no sharp edge to scrape on your jar lip. The top edge is rounded out. The silicone strainer sets into the funnel and is easily removed. I would recommend to this to anyone canning or in need of a handy kitchen funnel.

I bought this so I could strain and bottle my kefir at the same time and not have to try and get kefir bits out of the mesh strainer I was using. This is perfect. Easy to clean. Works great!

I bought this thinking I'd just use it for help with canning hot items but I've since found that it's useful all over the house. I use it to funnel coffee beans into bags, to put popcorn into the popcorn maker, just about anything I need to funnel into a bag or machine, it's perfect!

It has a handle that's long and off to the side so it doesn't get as hot as the rest of the funnel when dealing with warm items, and the silicone strainer is great if the item isn't too heavy (it can get pushed through if something over a pound hits it).

Really a great little funnel.

Got this to filter the lemon zest from my homemeade Limoncello. I like the large size because I can filter a lot at once. I set paper filters inside it and the setup catches everything the first time. It also sits well inside the opening of the 3 liter jars I use so I can pour with both hands and not have to hold the funnel. And, yes, the Limoncello is GREAT.

I use this to fill wide mouth jars with leftovers, which gives me a gleeful sense of satisfaction when the jar is just the right size to hold what I need to put in it (or: we ate just enough to have enough leftovers to fill the jars). It's light, stable, and the strainer is a nice bonus. Love it.

OVERVIEW
I discovered this funnel at Surfa's restaurant supply house in L.A. while travelling. I mention this because I highly recommend that you visit the place, offline or online. Sur La Table carries it too. You will also find it at better, local specialty kitchen shops if you live in a larger community.

PROS
* The heavy gauge, 18/5 stainless steel body, spout, handle and filter have not rusted nor stained in the five years I have used it. Admittedly, I do not often use it, but when I need it nothing else will do. Cheap, plastic funnels retain grease and flavors, avoid them.

* The size is just right: As the marketing blurb says, "Mouth 5.5"/14cm and Stem 2.25"/5.5cm." I would not want it any larger unless I were dealing with buckets, but only for liquids of about one gallon or less. I have not yet overflowed it, and if I did I would never blame the funnel. The mouth is made to fill Ball and Mason brand canning jars or similar. This is really a speciality funnel for canning. To blame it for not having a wider mouth for other applications is just plain silly.

* This wide-mouth funnel has uses other than canning. I use mine to fill wide mouthed containers to store liquid or dry foods capable of being poured, to fill a Thermos with coffee, tea, lemonade, fruit juice, stew or soup, or for filling kitchen canisters with solids such as small fruit or nuts, sugar, flour, rice, beans, coffee beans, loose tea, or breakfast cereal for example.

* The silicone strainer is a big deal here. Obviously, without it larger solids will pass through. Excellent for canning fruits and veggies, but you will need a bouillon strainer if you need a smooth, fine texture (see my review on the Matfer bouillon strainer).

I was looking for a wide-mouth funnel for pouring dry items into wide-mouth jars, and as a bonus, this comes with the removable silicone strainer for straining soup (for example) or other liquids from solids.
It's easy to clean, I haven't had a problem with the funnel tipping over while resting in the mouth of the jar. It's a great kitchen tool.

I was very happy to find a funnel for canning that wasn't plastic. This is well made and the silicone strainer works great! I'm sure I'll never need to buy another canning funnel, this one is perfect!
