What a great little gadget! Once my pancake batter is mixed, I simply pour some into the pancake dispenser and dispense it onto the hot griddle. No messy drips and cleanup is quick because I give it a good rince and toss it upsidedown into the dishwasher!

Only thing I would change would be to make it a bit bigger.

The pancake dispenser makes making pancakes a breeze. It puts the batter exactly where you want it and you are able to control the amount therefore the size of the final product. Pancakes made with the dispenser seem fluffier than just pouring out of a pitcher as i used to do. Thanks for having such a great product available!!

Tried out my new Norpro pancake dispenser today. I did not purchase from Amazon because I found it for $16.99 at TJMax. I was pleased with my discounted price and then set out to take my new gadget out for a spin. Nicely made, stainless steel product that has a professional quality to it. It took a couple of tries in the pan to make a perfect cake. They sure were pretty. I mixed my batter up in a plastic pitcher and just kept refilling the dispenser. It was quite simple and there was not a drop of mess. We have a large family, so I refilled quite a few times. Having read previous opinions, I knew that the dispenser was on the small side. No surprizes there! I noticed even the pan stayed cleaner while cooking due to the uniform cakes. I don't mind a little extra effort for nice looking results and this dispenser did not let me down. I know my younger children will enjoy using it next time. Mom wanted to try it first :) . I'm not sure I would have paid 29.99 for this simple pleasure but for 16.99, it was a good purchase.

Overall the item is great, however, if you're making pancake breakfast for more than 2, forget it as the item does not hold enough batter and must be refilled often. I did find the base that the dispenser rests in a great feature.

This dispenser holds a tiny amount of batter, and also only works with fairly runny batters. Thicker batters cannot be dispensed very well with it, and you end up having to squeeze the handle again and again to get anything out. Not worth the buy, in my opinion.

I love this dispenser...if ur kind of anal like me then this should ease ur pain lol...your pancakes come out perfectly round and in whatever size you want. It does drip but then again thats why it comes with a drip guard. the only negatives are its hard to get in there and clean as it doesnt disassemble and its kinda small so u may get 4 small pancakes or 2 big ones so not for family breakfast....also u still have to get another bowl dirty as u have to mix the batter and then pour it in

I purchased this hoping to make pouring the pancake batter easier. Because of the mechanism on the top, it is too difficult to put the batter in the dispenser and the dispenser itself is much smaller than I anticipated. I returned it. While I thought I needed a "gadget", I bought a big measuring cup. I can mix and pour in the measuring cup, and it is MUCH easier to clean...

I bought this in Dec-05, and just used it for the 1st time..

This is great, but I find it hard to fill.

When your pouring your batter in, you better not take your eyes off it for a second , or you will have the batter all over.

Or is there sometype of trick to this?

Although I use to make a mess taking a large spoon to put my pancake batter onto a large double griddle.

This puts it were it belongs, no mess once you get the batter in this...

The little cup this fits into works great...

I do wish they would have made this larger though.

The dispenser makes nearly perfectly round pancakes every time. The longer you hold the trigger, the bigger the pancake. Make sure you do not put anything chunky in the batter, as it will get clogged up in the dispenser.

It may not be clear from the photo, but this batter dispenser is comprised of two pieces: the dispenser, and a cup-shaped base to catch drips. You need to lift the dispenser up out of the base to dispense batter.

Problem is, you can't use the dispenser without the base (it won't stand up on its own), yet the dispenser sticks to the base nearly every time you use it. This means that you need two hands to use the dispenser - one to hold the base down, and the other to un-wedge the dispenser (hopefully without getting batter everywhere). And that's when it's clean; the problem is much worse once you get batter on the lip of the base. I hate using this thing for this reason.

Other than the awful base, the dispenser itself isn't great. It's virtually impossible to get a consistent deposit of batter; even with practice, sometimes I get a lot of batter and sometimes I get just a little. I bought it for making crepes, but the thin crepe batter just rushes out the hole. The flow of batter is limited by how far I open the valve, and how long I keep it open, but there are no stops or adjustments, so it's just guesswork to get the correct amount each time.

The dispenser is also way too small; I get only 4 or maybe 5 pancakes before I have to refill. And refilling is messy and cumbersome, mostly because of the small opening on top.

On the plus side, it's all stainless steel (no nasty plastic) and is totally dishwasher safe.

In short, the poor design really makes this product unpleasant to use.
