I purchased this corer this year and wished I had gotten one years ago. I used it to core apples for a pie, as well as for baking apples. It's extremely easy to use & a snap to clean. Would definitely recommend it!

Used this tool for the first time yesterday, it does a good job of removing the core from the fruit and the plunger is a good feature, saves your fingers from the very sharp blade. The only drawback I found is cleaning it, there is no easy way to get the inside of the tube clean and it can't be disassembled. It's stainless steel so rust isn't a problem but I'm concerned about having leftover apple spoiling inside the tool, especially on the top of the plunger. It's not a deal breaker but it would be better if the tube was removable for cleaning, if they threaded the rod and and the top disc I think that would solve the problem.

Absolutely the BEST Apple Corer I've found--I think I read somewhere that it was created by a female chef. With my arthritic hands this one is super-EASY! Note that it may take a strong hit on the counter to get the apple core disloged with the plunger, but other than that it makes a hard task VERY easy for me. This is the BEST apple corer anywhere! Buy it and you'll be very happy with it.

Bought this to use while canning apple butter, love how this glides right through the apple and then I can just pop out the core! Only thing is you have to hold the sides of the corer as the plunger moves up while you are going through the apple (the silver part in the handle). Wasn't paying attention the first time, but easy enough to move your hands to holding the edges.

All I can say is, "WOW"! I read the other raving reviews and thought,"If this is even half as good as everyone raves it is, I'll be happy because what I have now is AWFUL". As soon as it arrived, I peeled an apple and cored it. It was even easier than other people have described. You simply twist the red top clockwise with minimal pressure on the apple until it goes all the way through. While you are turning the top clockwise, there is a "button" in the middle that starts to rise. You realize it is because the core is being pushed up through the middle of your corer. As soon as you are done, you simply press (without much effort) the silver "button" down to dislodge the core from the plunger. I bought one for my mom too thinking it might help her out a little. She is going to LOVE it! It is well worth the extra few dollars as it is obviously well made and was easy to rise off. I will keep it in mind for anyone else I come across who might need one.
I cored a Granny Smith apple which is a little on the smaller side. I can see how it might not work quite as perfectly with a larger core??? I haven't tried it on a larger apple yet, but I don't care if it isn't perfect. After almost killing myself with a cheap corer, I will make this one work if I have to. It's a fabulous kitchen tool!!!

I have used this device a lot and I do love it. However the plunger has a tiny washer on the top that looked to have been glued together. Once I put mine in the dishwasher it loosened it up and the seal came loose. Luckily its a tight fit and I was able to tap it back on. Just be careful not to lose the top metal ring if it comes loose.

I've never owned an apple corer before and am happy with this purchase. It was easy to push into the apple and even worked on large Honeycrisp apples. It removed the entire core and seeds with a single punch. I found that I wanted to cover the entire bulb on top with my palm to push the corer into the apple which then covered up the plunger. I was unable to push into the apple because the plunger couldn't move. After holding the corer off-center to avoid the plunger it went into the apple nicely. To remove the core of the apple you push the plunger down but it didn't push the core all the way out. I still had to pull it out the rest of the way with my fingers. This was a reasonable price and I would certainly buy this again despite the difficulties with the plunger.

This helps me make the perfect apple chips. The prior corers I had used - were often awkward to handle and had scary, sharp blades. This corer has the best design, feels safe and is really easy to use. One of my best kitchen-gadget purchases.
