5.0 out of 5 stars Super easy to clean!
I really love these pans - the size is small but that is not really a drawback because I can get 2 of them on one oven rack, so they really give me more flexibility than a larger pan. They still look brand new after about 6 months of use and clean up so easily! I avoid "nonstick" coatings as they always end up peeling off and I am not convinced they are safe, especially...

2.0 out of 5 stars Wish I'd paid the extra ten bucks for that other brand.
Before I bought this cookie sheet, I noticed a couple other reviews about some "glue" being tough to get off. This didn't sound like a big deal to me - how hard could it really be to get rid of a little adhesive? Well, my cookie sheet arrived, and I saw that yes, there was a paper label attached to the sheet with a blob of glue right in the middle... and I've now wasted...

They still look brand new after about 6 months of use and clean up so easily! I avoid "nonstick" coatings as they always end up peeling off and I am not convinced they are safe, especially peeling, and sometimes you have to live with some sticking that way. But with a light greasing, cookies slide right off these pans even without that yukky teflon coating that so many cookie pans have. Definitely a winner!

4.0 out of 5 stars Small stainless cookie sheet is exactly what I was looking for!, December 23, 2007

I was happy to find this item because I couldn't find stainless cookie sheets at any of the retail stores I patronize. No more obnoxious fumes from baking with non-stick pans. These cookie sheets work well for me because my oven is small, and the 12"x15" size allows room around the sides for heat circulation. Because my old cookie sheets had higher edges all around, I had to adjust to gripping these cookie sheets tighter. As for the glue the manufacturer used to adhere the brand name/recipe page to the cookie sheet, I was successful using WD-40. I sprayed a bit of WD-40 on a paper towel, wiped the glue residue off and washed the cookie sheets before use.

Before I bought this cookie sheet, I noticed a couple other reviews about some "glue" being tough to get off. This didn't sound like a big deal to me - how hard could it really be to get rid of a little adhesive? Well, my cookie sheet arrived, and I saw that yes, there was a paper label attached to the sheet with a blob of glue right in the middle... and I've now wasted more than an hour trying to get that "blob" to come off the pan. First I tried scrubbing it with dish soap and hot water, but that just spread the adhesive into a wider patch on my pan. A friend advised using vinegar and baking soda so I tried that - no good. Someone else said to use alcohol - that didn't work either. The last piece of advice I got, the best so far, was to use Vaseline (strangely enough). The Vaseline got rid of MOST of the adhesive - but I'm still left with an ugly mark in the middle of the pan, and the metal around that mark is all scuffed up from the scouring pad I had used.

Another thing I noticed when I received the baking sheet was that there was some "crusty" stuff (spilled adhesive??) along 2 of the sides/edges. I can't get this stuff off either - I guess it's not as big of a deal because it won't come into contact with baked goods, but it's not what you'd expect of a brand new product.

Overall, I'm irritated because I bought this cookie sheet to avoid toxic chemicals from those non-stick/teflon products, but ended up getting this insanely indestructible adhesive anyway, that I'm sure isn't safe to bake. (I did end up making cookies that day, after covering up the adhesive splotch with a piece of foil. The cookies came out the same way they did on my regular aluminum jelly roll sheets, so I'm not sure what makes this pan "special" for cookies.) It also makes me a little paranoid that this pan is made in China, when China's track record has been pretty sketchy when it comes to using unsafe materials. I am now thinking of buying this pan, which is made in the USA: http://www.amazon.com/American-Kitchen-Stainless-Steel-Cookie/dp/B002T44Z0Q/

This is a great cookie sheet. I chose stainless steel because of possible health issues associated with using teflon or aluminum, and because I know it's durable. My mom bought one elsewhere a few years ago, and when I compared the two, mine was much heavier, and better quality. I would highly recommend this pan - especially since it was part of the 4 for 3 promotion and I was able to get 2 of these, along with 2 of the 9" round cake pans from this company, for only $30! A great deal!

Eliminating reactive metal cookware from our kitchen. Never had a stainless steel baking sheet before and now wish I'd been using them for years. Bakes evenly, distributes heat well, very easy clean up. Highly recommend this product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Even at 50 years of age, these will look great, March 30, 2008
This review is from: Norpro 14 Inch x 12 Inch Stainless Steel Cookie Sheet (Kitchen)
A friend gave me three of her mother's stainless steel cookie sheets and I was looking to purchase a fourth. Boy, was I happy to find this! The three vintage stainless steel cookie sheets I inherited are probably around 50 years old, and look as good as this new one, which is exactly the same size and shape. When I received the older ones, all it took was a few minutes with a Brillo pad, and they were as shiny as new. I couldn't tell them apart from the new sheet. Of course, for those who don't want to expend a little elbow grease, a little oven cleaner does a great job, too.

Stainless steel is easy to clean and lasts forever. It makes sense to purchase things that will last and last, and not need replacement every few years. I'm sure I'll be passing these onto my daughters for the next five decades of use.

3.0 out of 5 stars Love the cookie sheet. Hate the glue!, October 30, 2007

Great cookie sheet, but I hate the glue they used to put on the label. It does not come off unless you buy

a special product. Seems absolutely ridiculous to have to buy a special product to remove the sticker, which makes the cookie sheet more expensive. I did not know this at the time, and tried to remove it the usual ways - soap and water, then a standard kitchen spray, then 409. Nothing worked. Long story short. I have a really ugly mark on my pan where the glue was. It's very disappointing to buy something new and have it look like this.

On the up side, I do like the pan.

5.0 out of 5 stars Durable and Lovely, April 22, 2008
This review is from: Norpro 14 Inch x 12 Inch Stainless Steel Cookie Sheet (Kitchen)
I'm in the process of replacing all my old beat up pans with Pyrex or stainless steel, and using this pan really motivates me to hurry up and get the entire collection.

The durable thickness of this pan makes baked goods turn out beautifully--without being too heavy or unwieldy. It's big enough to hold a decent amount of cookies/biscuits and small enough to slide next to another pan on the center oven rack. (I can't wait to have 2!)

It's easy to clean and virtually non-stick. (I generally use parchment paper on the bottom of my baking pans, but any of my spills have easily been remedied.)

Like other users, I've noticed a couple odd things about the packaging.

1) The glue on the label. (Why use glue at all, as the pan is sealed in plastic before purchase?) The glue is not at all like that rubbery, easily removable stuff some companies use. This doesn't take away from the functional aspects of the pan, but can leave a mark on the shiny finish if you're not careful.

2) Advertising on the label that reads "Can be used as a jelly roll pan." Not so much really. The pan's open edges make it easy to slide cookies or biscuits off onto a plate and works great for heat circulation, but wouldn't hold a jelly roll. It makes me wonder if Norpro just uses the same label for both pans.

Otherwise this is a great pan, especially for the cost, and will last for years to come!

Since learning how bad Teflon is, I decided that I wanted to get rid of our cookie sheets and buy new ones. But I couldn't figure out what kind to get. I wanted stonewear sheets, but they are expensive and get mixed reviews (lots of sticking). So I went with these instead and I am really glad that I did. They work beautifully, though I do grease them first, unlike Teflon coated sheets. Everything bakes beautifully and comes off easily, they are simple to clean up and very inexpensive. I highly recommend them!
