4.0 out of 5 stars I love it
On the positive side 4 stars: many 70 foot rows of cobs later I love it and it has saved me a lot of time. Stainless easy to clean, cuts good (to the person complaining it does not work, I'd say practice makes better and operator error makes worse, also corn cobs are individuals too and that needs to be taken into account as one handles them. 1.0 out of 5 stars Ouch!!!
We bought several corn cutters and did a comparison test. This one was the worst. I was disappointed, because I'd chosen this one, while my wife chose Kuhn Rikon as the "most likely to succeed." She won, hands down. While the Norpro was faster, it was also a bit dangerous. I kept nicking my fingers, creating some rather colorful corn. I put mine in the back of the...

a point knocked off because: one must watch out and keep finger clear of blades, and so this seems common sense to me, so has not been an issue. If there is one thing missing it is a pan for underneath to catch the corn, but one can improvise with a cookie sheet just as well

5.0 out of 5 stars couldn't freeze sweet corn without it, May 9, 2008
I have been using a Lee's corn cutter for over 40 years to freeze sweet corn for my family. We live on a farm and make use of this handy device EVERY time it's time to freeze corn. In fact, it is a fight to see who gets to use it and who has to use the paring knife. After the corn has been blanched, run the ear along the blade, the kernals come off in one pass, to get creamier corn pass the ear again. Then turn the ear and repeat until the kernals are all off. It takes some adjustment to get the right depth of the blade and the right pressure when scraping, but once you've got it, you've got it! Much faster than a knife. Easy to clean. I love it and have given it as gifts to many friends and relatives. Whenever I hear someone say it is too much work to freeze sweet corn, I am sure they have never used one of these!

She won, hands down. While the Norpro was faster, it was also a bit dangerous. I kept nicking my fingers, creating some rather colorful corn. I put mine in the back of the drawer and waited to use hers. We bought two more of the Kuhn Rikons, one for us and one for a friend.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best corn cutter, March 24, 2010

I have been using this tool for over 20 years. It's fast and easy to use. I am constantly buying more as gifts. Everyone asks about how I prepared my yummy creamed corn. It's so much better than canned or frozen. This is the best method of removing the kernels as well as milking the juice from the cob. I wouldn't recommend it if it weren't.

1.0 out of 5 stars Broke in the very first minute of use, August 10, 2010

Utterly useless waste of my time and money.

The very first shove bent the extraordinarily flimsy blade back. I bent it back into place, and tried again with identical results.

I can't believe anyone could give this thing anything but a zero-star rating. Do those other people work for the company that makes it?
I'm utterly baffled by how this piece of [...] could ever work, except perhaps on a stick of soft butter.

Unbelievably poorly made.

5.0 out of 5 stars Corn Cutter, August 7, 2008
This is the best way to get corn off the cob, cream or whole kernel. It is so smooth and easy. It is 10 times faster than a knife. Clean up is a breeze.
Thank you so much, Jeff aka: "Farm Boy"

I just borrowed my neighbor's to cream corn and it was fantastic. I have to order my own. This was a wonderful gadget for creaming corn! I can't imagine doing this again without this corn cutter in my kitchen.

I bought this product for a garden full of corn, but it does not work. It was completely useless. It did not cut ther corn off ther cob. Thank goodness I also bought a small handheld cutter that worked.

This tool appears to be a good build. But I ran my first ear of corn across it and the blade bent. Actually, the blade didn't bend, just the thin piece of steel that the blade is attached to. I sent it back.
