While it does it's job, the holes are too big and a lot of the tea gets through the holes.

It took me two days of pushing, pulling, prying, and levering just to get the pieces separated (not to mention cutting my finger twice). Plus, the chain came off and one of the links fell off. I had to get out a pair of pliers to put the chain back together and squeeze the hook holding it on back into place.

Just awful!

This tea ball infuser is somewhat difficult to open and close. The 2 stainless steel pieces don't fit together perfectly. It works with a little trouble, and the price was right, but I try to avoic using it.

While I'm sure this will work for loose tea with larger leaves, I bought this to use with a Rooibos Lemon blend and a Tarocco Ruby Orange blend (from Teavana). Unfortunately, both had finer pieces in the blend. These finer pieces came out of the holes, thus defeating the purpose of the tea ball.

This tea strainer is for those who like a challenge, have tools, doesn't mind bleeding, and has great motor skill and spare times. I used this once and the thing was very hard to open. I used a small screwdriver, jabing my hands, causing bleeding, to pryed it open. I managed to get it stuck togather while trying to reattach the chain. Try something else, unless want to buy this for someone who has a odd sense of humor.

Before buying this ball I read the reviews and took my chances. I am so glad I did. Most seem to find this ball hard to open. I was worried and when I received it, it took sometime for me to open. For some reason I had the idea to spray cooking oil on it and just like that it opened. Some also spoke about bits of tea getting in the cup, it happens but not so much and it really depends on the tea. I tend to drink teas that expand so not much of a problem here...

The shipping was pretty long, I guess it ships from China like almost everything else but I got free shipping so I didn't worry.

This tea ball after a bit of use will eventually not even stay together. It dispenses tea just fine but otherwise... I suggest a different one.

Ah, how long did my readers have to wait for a tea-ball (spherical mesh tea infuser) review series? Yet I find it is a must. Tea is a serious business, and if you know antiques you'll know by the looks of the beautiful old tea caddies that it was worth its weight in gold, like sugar once was.

Norpro Stainless Steel Tea Ball ~ This is a style of infuser I learned to deeply appreciate thanks to my old lady. Her grandmother had several (in aluminum for some reason) and gave us two when we were first married. It was odd getting used to screwing/unscrewing the hemispheres, but I got to dearly love this model.

This infuser does tend to leave sediment at the bottom of your cup, but I almost feel a good cuppa is lost without that pinch of sediment at the bottom ~ though I feel differently when I can't enjoy that final sip due to the crud floating around in there. C'est la vie. This infuser, by the way, will not leave any more sediment than any other model, mesh or solid-with-holes.

Since this is a steel implement and it is not mesh, I need not tell you it is a bit harder to wash ~ a good rinse under rapidly running hot water is my rule, and I always sanitize anything new as soon as I take it out of the package, so no germ worries. My suggestion is you buy one of those little key racks with the hooks on them, put it up and hang your tea infusers there.

This little tea implement brings back so many fond memories but I will be frank with you: I always hated the extra work it takes to clean this style infuser. This one does make it difficult to clear out all the debris thoroughly. However, I found it tough going to live without one when my old one was lost.

While it does it's job, the holes are too big and a lot of the tea gets through the holes. I would say this is more for whole loose leaf rather than crushed loose leaf tea.
