While I'm sure this will work for loose tea with larger leaves, I bought this to use with a Rooibos Lemon blend and a Tarocco Ruby Orange blend (from Teavana). Unfortunately, both had finer pieces in the blend. These finer pieces came out of the holes, thus defeating the purpose of the tea ball.

This tea ball infuser is somewhat difficult to open and close. The 2 stainless steel pieces don't fit together perfectly. It works with a little trouble, and the price was right, but I try to avoic using it.

It took me two days of pushing, pulling, prying, and levering just to get the pieces separated (not to mention cutting my finger twice). Plus, the chain came off and one of the links fell off. I had to get out a pair of pliers to put the chain back together and squeeze the hook holding it on back into place.

Just awful!
