Not for all loose teas,

While I'm sure this will work for loose tea with larger leaves, I bought this to use with a Rooibos Lemon blend and a Tarocco Ruby Orange blend (from Teavana). Unfortunately, both had finer pieces in the blend. These finer pieces came out of the holes, thus defeating the purpose of the tea ball.

Could be better...,

This tea ball infuser is somewhat difficult to open and close. The 2 stainless steel pieces don't fit together perfectly. It works with a little trouble, and the price was right, but I try to avoic using it.

The worst teaball ever!,
By where's the books? (New York, NY USA) - See all my reviews

It took me two days of pushing, pulling, prying, and levering just to get the pieces separated (not to mention cutting my finger twice). Plus, the chain came off and one of the links fell off. I had to get out a pair of pliers to put the chain back together and squeeze the hook holding it on back into place.
Just awful!

Bad Tea Ball!,
By
This review is from: Norpro Stainless Steel Tea Ball (Kitchen)
This tea infuser does not work with smaller pieces, as in the Teavana Rooibos Chai + Mate blend. All the grit just made its way out of the ball.
Also, it's not totally easy to get the two halves back together again, though it is possible. I'd leave this tea ball for larger loose-leaf teas, and for when you're not in a hurry!

Great TeaBall,

Before buying this ball I read the reviews and took my chances. I am so glad I did. Most seem to find this ball hard to open. I was worried and when I received it, it took sometime for me to open. For some reason I had the idea to spray cooking oil on it and just like that it opened. Some also spoke about bits of tea getting in the cup, it happens but not so much and it really depends on the tea. I tend to drink teas that expand so not much of a problem here...
The shipping was pretty long, I guess it ships from China like almost everything else but I got free shipping so I didn't worry.

Stay away - harder than rubik's cube,

This tea strainer is for those who like a challenge, have tools, doesn't mind bleeding, and has great motor skill and spare times. I used this once and the thing was very hard to open. I used a small screwdriver, jabing my hands, causing bleeding, to pryed it open. I managed to get it stuck togather while trying to reattach the chain. Try something else, unless want to buy this for someone who has a odd sense of humor.

Somewhat disappointed,

Not exactly what I expected it to be quality wise. The stainless steel is not the quality I expected it to be, nor is the size I expected it to be. I am from the old school. My mother owned one of these when I was a child, I am 60 yrs. young. Hers was larger and a better quality of stainless steel. She still had it after I became grown. Maybe to some it would be suitable, but I was disappointed. I was looking for it to be the same as my mother's since it is the same exact style.

holes are too big,
This review is from: Norpro Stainless Steel Tea Ball (Kitchen)
While it does it's job, the holes are too big and a lot of the tea gets through the holes. I would say this is more for whole loose leaf rather than crushed loose leaf tea.

Dont buy this on amazon!,

Why? Because I just bought one from "Target" for $1.99 Stainless steel teaball by Chefmate, looks almost identical to this one! Why pay $6 when its $2 at target! They look almost identical in shape design everything, heck maybe they are.. since they are both made in china, many of the factory stamping are shared in China's manufacturing plants.

easy to use, have had it for many years,
By

I have had this teaball for over 4 years. It remains unrusted, easy to clean, and easy to unscrew. Yes, sometimes smaller pieces of tea leaves seep out from the bottom, but it is a miniscule amount and isn't really a big deal, especially considering the price of this product.
