good hard to find excavator
We looked forever to find a "jachammer excavator" for my 4 year old. The attachments come on and off, and the bucket was at first hard to put on (rated 8 and up). Over all, very well made, and maybe something to put away as a collectable. Catapillar also has a website to find a wide range of scale models.

too small for toddlers
A complete and detailed reproduction of an excavator, yes BUT not what my 3 yr old had in mind. This is hard metal with sharp corners and much smaller than we anticipated. Our boy preferred the tonka lg plastic excavator which was much bigger and cheaper. Far from a sandbox toy, this one is for the serious construction truck collector.

This product fell apart almost instantly and the company wanted to do nothing about it. Try finding a different brand somewhere else.
