5.0 out of 5 stars Photo-Guide to the Legendary P-51!, May 26, 2009
This review is from: North American P-51 Mustang: A Photo Chronicle (Paperback)
Books on North American's Mustang appear as regularly as the Sparrows at Capistrano. F-86 expert Larry Davis shifts his sights to the P-51 in this 1992 Schiffer release, producing a 112-page photo tribute to the greatest Allied fighter of World War II.

After a brief introduction to the P-51's development, NORTH AMERICAN P-51 MUSTANG, A PHOTO CHRONICLE looks at Production, the Merlin Engine, bubble-top P-51D/P-51K models, lightweight P-51H models and the P-82 Twin Mustang. Each chapter includes a concise text.

The book justifies its 'Photo Chronicle' subtitle. The book includes over 110 b&w and color vintage and contemporary photographs and diagrams. Many of the photos have been previously seen but they're all under one roof here and at a great price ($19.95).

Mustang fanatics and air combat buffs in general will enjoy this photo tribute to North American's superlative warbird. Recommended.
