Great book and totem pole project!,

What a surprise to find that we had not just ordered a book on Totem poles, but that it came with an associated craft project. The book comes as part of an overall kit, which includes paints, brushes and segments of a totem pole which you can paint and assemble. The book is great, especially for the school age set, as it describes the common elements used in totem poles such as a bear or eagle, gives a history of the importance of that creature to Native Americans and a short Indian legend about the creature. The book was originally ordered to help a 9 year old with a school project, but we know need to get a second one because it was so popular with our 12 year old!
