5.0 out of 5 stars Remarkable, biographical, eye-witness, battlefield account., March 4, 2000
This review is from: North Apennines and Beyond With the 10th Mountain Division: With the 10th Mountain Division (Paperback)
The North Apennines And Beyond With The 10th Mountain Division is a personal, eye-witness account of combat in Italy during World War II from the perspective a frontline infantryman, Private First Class Harris Dusenbery. His vivid account is enhanced with the 1945 report on the Riva Ridge Operation by Lt. Col. Henry J. Hampton who commanded the reinforced Battalion that took the Ride in a rare, truly alpine military operation. The North Apennines And Beyond is illustrated by the drawings of Wilson P. Ware and maps by Armand Casini. The North Apennines And Beyond is a remarkable account and a welcome addition to the growing body of biographical accounts of combat in the European Theater of operations.
