The pop-up shade envied by others,
By
This review is from: North Pole 10- by 10-Foot First-Up Straightwall Gazebo (Blue) (Sports)
We purchased the North Pole tent to use with our camping trailer. Last weekend it went for its first trip, I was camping at an event where everyone had shade tents (it was 97 degrees out). When I arrived friend came over to help me get set up, seeing that I had a new shade tent it became a focus of interest (I was grateful to have a hand as it doesn't seem likely 1 person can set this up on their own). Comparing our tent to all the others we are very happy with our choice (most folks hve an E-Z up or QuickShade).
North Pole Pros: - More stably built, two arm support at the corner to the roof brace and an overall stronger feel to the frame. - Velcro on the corners to help hold the top on, especially nice when setting up in wind. - Velcro straps at the middle of each side of the top cover, to secure the top to the frame (it's now held at each corner and the middle of each expanse with velcro in addition to a tight fit). - Velcro straps at the middle of the support arms to the top of the tent (roof braces), to help secure the top to the frame. - Push buttons over the metal release buttons so you don't kill your thumb trying to lower the tent or when you take it down. - Great wheeled carrying case. - Cost LESS then the other tents (and delivered to my front door). The only two things that could hopefully be improved upon (these are an issue with all these pop-up shades) are the overall weight and being able to set it up and take it down with one person. However, they provided a very nice wheeled case to help with the weight and the added velcro on the corners may allow me to set it up myself if I inch around it in a circular manner.

Overall I'm Happy :-),

I won't mention the price I purchased this for but it was dam good (probably the cheapest ever listed) and free shipping can't be beat!
I probably could have put it up myself but it would have definitely taken some time. I had 1 person to help me put it up. We struggled a bit but no biggie. Taking it down I had 3 people helping and that made a big difference. If there are 4 people to put it up and take it down let me tell you, that's the way to go. It rained and the seams are not sealed so it leaked a tiny bit in various spots. Good for anyone else to know ... so make sure you seal the seams first. The canopy is still attached to the frame and the bag it comes with has an extra zipper to expand the upper part where it's now bulky. No problem packing it back inside the carrying case.

Great Canopy,

I used this canopy on the beach in Hilton Head with 20 mile an hour winds, and it held up great. It offers a large footprint of shade, and has guy-wire type supports for the four corners. The height has 3 adjustments. It is well-made and easy to put up with 2 people (easier with 4). Drawbacks are it is heavy (around 35lbs I think) so lugging it to the beach is a chore. The instructions recommend removing the top before folding, so that is a little extra work compared to canopies that fold with the tarp still attached. Overall, we were quite happy and came home without sunburns!

Easy to set up and well build. I forgot to tie it down and a gust of wind blew it over. It went tumbling across the yard and the frame broke. I call the company and they sent out a new frame. No questions, no hastles. Great product for the price and good support.

My friends were envious!,

I had bought one of these not really knowing the quality. I received it and the next day used it at a tailgating party. By the end of the party , I was headed home to buy 3 more for friends. The ease of set up and take down was great. The bag that it comes in is also very handy. Needless to say I have had this about 3 months and 8 football games and it is still wonderful. I do not know about wind tolerence, but I know it does keep the rain off of us.

We had a previous "easy" install gazebo and wasn't easy at all. This one is very easy to setup and the quality is exceptional. My kids could do it by themselves. The size was better than expected and a 6' person can easily walk underneath without ducking.

NP 10x10 Gazebo Super Easy Setup,

We took this camping with us over 4th of July weekend for the first time and it was so easy to use and set up. It did only take two of us to set it up, but went extra fast when all 4 of us were busy. We bought the screen attachment for it, and that was easy as well. The best part was that we were on the lake and got some really nasty weather that came up rather fast, and the gazebo came down so quickly that we were able to put it away before the rain started coming down hard.

Takes more than 2 to set up,

Bought this for wife to use at Farmers Market. First it will take more than 2 people to set up, or at least raise the frame, otherwise you bend the trusses. The second time we used this product one of the trusses just snapped at the connection point. Material was similar to that white curtain rod we all know so well. I will contact the company and update this if possible, as to how customer support is.

Best Quality For The Money,
By Jon in Colorado (Lone Tree, CO United States) - See all my reviews

I had researched many canopies on the market as well as viewing them and setting some up all within the $100 dollar range (give or take $20). The First Up canopy by far is the best one for the money. The canopy itself is a thicker grade canvas that is silver lined to provide excellent shade and durability. It is the only one in this price range with easy push levers for extending the legs\support polls instead of trying to recess a little button through the hole with your fingers. The footprint is actually bigger than the others as the other canopies are actually smaller but they measure the footprint of the legs which happen to extend out further. There are more Velcro fasteners than the others and if you know what you are doing setup and teardown is fairly fast (6mins). The roller bag is a heavy canvas versus the others with a light nylon bag. The only minor drawback is it's weight but if you want quality you expect a heavier product. So far I have set mine up around 10 times with no issues. In this price range I highly recommend.

Craft show vendor booth MUST!,

Sometimes it rains in Seattle.. believe it or not! I used this as a "vendor tent" for my craft shows. Set-up is easy and everything you need is in the bag and the bag has WHEELS! This product will make your life easier when you need to haul stuff to a show or the camp ground.
