Product Description

Wits & Wagers is history’s most award-winning party game. Why does everyone love Wits & Wagers? Because you don’t need to know the answers to win! The excitement is betting on the best guess. First, everyone writes down a guess to a fun question like “What percent of bank robberies are committed by women?” Then players bet on which guess is closest to the right answer. With simpler rules and all new questions, the Party Edition will get any large group cheering and laughing in no time!

Customer Reviews

The game is very simple to learn, easy to set up and fun to play.
If looking for a fun quick game to play with friends and family, I would go with Wits and Wagers Party Edition.
The questions are so random, no one really knows the answer so everyone has an equal chance at guessing.

Our family enjoyed playing Wits & Wagers and Wits & Wagers Family. For those of you who haven't read my reviews or have never played these games, players will be attempting to score the most points by not only coming up with the best answers to questions, but by also betting on the answers that they think could be correct. All of the answers are always in the form of a number and the "best answer" is the one that is the closest to the actual answer without going over. (Think "Price is Right")

Wits & Wagers Party follows along with the same theme, combining aspects of both games to provide hours of entertainment to family and friends alike. Before we get started with the review, I'd like to thank Luke Warren from North Star Games for sending me a free review copy.

Markers and Marker Boards - Players will be writing down and submitting their answers with these as questions are read.

Question Cards - Each round, one question will be read that the players will need to answer. All questions call for a numeric answer.

Bid Tokens - Players will be betting on answers with these. They are allowed to place bets on their own answer as well as on the other answers present.

Poker Chips - These chips are awarded during the scoring phase of each round. Players will be trying to get as many as possible as they determine who wins the game.

The "1" Elvis Impersonator Board - This board represents the absolute minimum answer, which players can bet on if they see fit to. This can sometimes occur when a player feels that all of the answers on the table are too high, including their own answer. The "1" Elvis board is double sided...one side pays out double should players bet on that answer and win, while the other pays out as normal.

Wits & Wagers has long been one of my favorite games! As a person who loves gameplay and does a lot of it, I tend to get a little picky! I want action, laughs, fast paced, easy rules, not too long of a running time for play and I like an unpredictable outcome. This is where Wits & Wagers comes in. It has always met this criteria, every time Northstar Games comes out with a new version. I Love Love Love it!

I believe this is version #3. (Regular - Family and now Party!) Once you have the various versions, you can always switch out the trivia cards to enhance and renew the game at any time!

With Wits & Wagers it is not just what you know, it is who do you think knows! If you have one or the other of those, you have good odds at whooping your opponents.

In this version there are playing parts for six teams. The more the merrier on this one! Teams are best if they have a minimum of three players. Read the trivia card, make your guess at the answer, place your bet on the answer(s) you like most and then reveal the answer and see which team guessed the closest. If you bet on that answer, you have scored points! Keep doing that enough and you just may win ... or maybe not... that one wild and crazy daring soul/team who places a wild and crazy bet may come from behind and whoop you in to history ... Be afraid - be VERY afraid! But laugh all the way through that fear! This is a fun game, hilarious at times but enjoyed by everyone I have ever played with. Now it is your turn! Have fun!

You may wonder if the world needs another Wits & Wagers game. After all, there's already the original Wits And Wagers, Wits & Wagers Expansion Pack 1, and Wits & Wagers Family.

But we say "Bring on the Party!"

Wits & Wagers Party is true to it's roots. It still maintains the wonderful same game play that has made its predecessors such wonderful games - where you don't need to know the trivia to win the game.

When compared with the other Wits & Wagers games, we really like the scoring in Wits & Wagers Party. First because it's so simple. And because it's so simple to tally scores the game plays along at a great pace. In the original Wits & Wagers game, every answer is placed on a board that pay out different odds (2 to 1, 3 to 1, etc.). So figuring out the payouts after each question takes some calculation and delays the game play a bit. This can also lead to a runaway leader if they're getting lucky.

In Wits & Wagers Family the scoring is also simple using wooden Meeples for voting on the answers. The only downside to scoring in Wits & Wagers Family is that near the end of the game players can tell if they'll have a chance to win or not. If they're too far behind in scoring, their interest may wane.

But in Wits & Wagers Party the twist in the final 7th round gives all players a chance to make it interesting. So even if they're behind up to that point they can make aggressive wagers on the last question and pull out a win.
