4.0 out of 5 stars easy to assemble , birds love it, attractive
This feeder, for the price range is good. The only problem I find with the feeder is the junction where the inner tube telescopes. The locking will come loose if you don't have it properly adjusted. Could improve on that. For the most part an excellant purchase price and very attractive bird feeder. Birds like the perch.

3.0 out of 5 stars Oops, no drain holes....
I really like this feeder (see previous review) except for one problem: there are no drain holes in the outside tray to drain away water. Oops.

This feeder is my third backyard bird feeder and my first pole-mounted feeder. The birds love it (young birds have taken to napping on it) and so do I. I put it much nearer to my window than hanging feeders would allow, and the squirrel doesn't seem to empty it either, although I keep waiting for him to find a way to do that. The feeder is easy to assemble, fill, and mow around, and is very sturdy. I highly recommend this feeder.

3.0 out of 5 stars Sectional pole rather "wobbly"..., September 7, 2000
By A Customer

For the price this is a fairly good bird feeder with a pleasing appearance. However, I had problems with the hollow metal six-section pole pieces. I found it difficult to insert the pole ends together and when finally connected it proved to be a rather "wobbly" pole that would come apart if lifted and would curve when burdened with a full load of bird seed. If you don't plan on using the pole to support the feeder then this is a good deal. Otherwise, plan on obtaining a more sturdier one-piece pole to help support it.

Tnis was a replacement for my elderly father's 20 year old feeder that he claimed was knocked down by a bear!!! I searched and wha-la was able to find it and have it shipped to my very happy father in record time. Obviously, this is a great product because my dad's previous one lasted until the "bear incident". My dad is thrilled with the feeder and I'm delighted with the fast action I received getting it to him. Buy this feeder if you have an open area with no trees to hang a feeder.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for me, but..., May 29, 2007
This review is from: North States Industries 9002 Pop-Up Coach Lamp Feeder (Lawn & Patio)
This has turned out to be the perfect feeder for me. I have 10 of them hanging in my yard. I agree that I can't see anyway you could use the pole because it's so flimsy. I was worried about the "brittle" material but that has proven to be a plus. We have VERY aggresive squirrels and they would chew right through the softer, more pliable plastic that most feeders are made of. I did have a problem with squirrels getting a start at the rotating top but, for some reason, I got the idea to drill a small hole and insert a nail in the top that can be removed when I fill it but keeps the lid from rotating when it's inserted. I have now had two summers with no suirrel damage at all.

At any rate, this feeder holds a good amount, is easy to fill and clean, and is perfect for my yard.

5.0 out of 5 stars pop-up bird feeder, February 16, 2007

Pop-up refers to how you put it together. Once up - it stays. It's a great bird feeder. Hold lots of seed and has 4 sides for the birds to perch.

No way to keep pole upright... first bird or wind that hits it and the thing is standing lopsided in your yard. Albeit inexpensive, it's a waste of money.

2.0 out of 5 stars a waste of money, July 25, 2001
This review is from: North States Industries 9002 Pop-Up Coach Lamp Feeder (Lawn & Patio)
This looked like a great idea, I bought 2 other feeders with this one last year. The Pop-up Coach feeder is already in the trash can. I bought it for the pole which lasted one week, it got bent by the wind. I also had problems with the "pop-up" falling down. I don't recommend it even to hang up. not worth the hassle or money.
