I have three 85 pound dogs who are about 3 years old. I bought several of the extra wide tall pressure mount gates and they are terrific! My dogs are still quite active and very strong - these gates are wonderful to use anywhere in the house. The height of the gates are great since my dogs are so big. I would definitely recommend this product to everyone looking for a sturdy gate -

This gate does it's job - snugly fastens to walls or doorways to create a barrier. However, i noticed after using the gate for a week or so that it has left a series of indentations or dents on the doorframe. It seems this gate has a design defect in that the main bar used to expand the gate extends slightly past the edge of the gate, cutting into the wall when it is used. Since i am a renter, i am not so pleased with the damage it has caused. It is mild, but still noticeable, and will require repairs.

This gate was exactly what I wanted. The only thing that I wish was different was the finish on the wood. It is raw wood. I wish it had some type of clear finish to prevent staining from hands opening and closing. But, if it bothers me too much, I will stain it myself. Good value for good product.

not too sure what others are refering to when saying this gate is difficult to use... it sets up like any other pressure mounted gate out there. to set up, of course you need 2 hands [another person is so NOT needed] line it up with your wall, choose the size, and push the bar down. to take down- you only need 1 hand, simply pull the bar up.

what i love about this gate, is that when taking it down you can pull the bar completely up and not have to worry about the gate coming apart. there is a locking feature that prevents the two slats from going out the other end. you'll know what i'm talking about if you've owned the cheapy 10 dollar gate.

it's tall, very sturdy, and fits bigger doorways. i use it both for dogs and children. perfect for both uses.

unless you're using too tight of a setting it will not damage your walls. and of course if it falls down easily, your setting is too loose. other than that, it's easy to get up and very easy to get down.

Easy to use and stays secure, and it's not expensive, so I consider this a good value -- plus it's made in the U.S. I have read some reviews that it is difficult to operate or can't be done by one person. Not so. I'm not particularly mechanically inclined, and I'm in my 60s. It's a good buy and keeps the dog where she should be. I use them out on the deck or in an interior doorway. The adjustability from 30 - 50" is important if you have varied spaces where using them.

To my surprise, the gate is more substanial than I had suspected. It works perfectly to keep our weiner dog at bay. Works for us!

The gate works great and is very easy to set up single handed. Creates a very secure barrier for our dog. One minor design flaw means that if you locate the gate inside the lip of moulding in your door jam, the locking arm mechanisms can mar the wood moulding. There's no need to set up inside the moulding as the locking is very secure wherever you set it up, but a minor change in the design could eliminate the problem.

This gate will expand to 50", but when expanded that far it will not stay in place. This gate broke the day I got it. Poorly constructed out of cheap materials.

well I bought these for a polmerain and a chichuahua mix. They are very strong. Good colors and the widths are perfect. It is somewhat difficult to set up. It is a notch lock and unless you and hold it tight and sercurely by yourself and lock it with the other hand(can be done...takes time)do not buy it. Perfect if you have another person to hold it while you lock it.

This product is exactly like it is described and what I had expected. It fits perfectly in our 47" doorway. It is easy to set up and sturdy. I was nervous about its quality due to other reviews but so far I am happy. It helps to keep our 9 mo old baby in and our two labs out of the living/play area.
