We ordered the 3 in one superyard plus this extension to section of a large part of our living room for our twins to play. It's very simple to add it on to the super-yard: no tools required. The only issue I have with the extension set is that it DOES NOT COME WITH EXTRA HARDWARE for attaching it to the wall, which you will need if:

1. You're using an odd number of panels in the wall-attached configuration and you want the option of easily converting it back to a stand alone enclosure
2. You're using extension parts alone to block off access to an area where a gate is not needed

To explain: We only needed 1 of the 2 extension panels to fit our space, and were able to swap parts around on the wall attachment hardware to make it work. There's a great review about how to do this under the 3 in 1 superyard product page in which the reviewer described a fix that won't require you to buy extra parts. We've now purchased another 2-panel extension to use with our "leftover" panel to block off access to our gas fireplace. If you want to use the extension, as we do, to block of an area you don't need gate access to, you will need to buy the wall-atachment hardware from the manufacturer: they have a nice webpage where you can select the parts you need... but it would be much easier if the parts just came with it... or if you could buy them from amazon.

I use my Superyard with the extension for protection around my wood burning stove and the hearth which it sets. Works well with or without mounting. It has many other versatile uses.

This fence is used to keep grandchildren a safe distance from our wood burning stove. It works, they cannot move it and it does not get hot.

We needed something to contain our 9 month old who wanted to crawl to things like the cat food, dirty shoes by the door, and other "no-no" things. He has a playpen, but we wanted something that had more square footage so he could crawl and stand and play without feeling too confined. We got the extension piece and it turned the play yard into 19sq feet - it is perfect. He has learned to pull himself up, and stand, and walk around the bars, but can not move the pen, nor climb on it due to the vertical slats. If you have the play yard, it is totally worth the investment to get the extension pieces.

Great idea when you want to make the playard bigger for your growing family. Very easy to connect to the original yard, blends in with no defect.

The gate itself is awesome. We had to get the extensions to make it long enough for us though, which was kind of disappointing and expensive. I also think its strange that they can't send you two separate panels in case you only need one, although from what I read you can separate them with a bit of work. Wish they came in black, but definitely met our needs.

I posted a longer review about this product on the Superyard product. This is just the extension, but I'm glad I got it! It gives baby plenty of space to have ALL his toys in there with him! :)

This was a lifesaver for my new home. It had a fireplace in the room attached to the kitchen that I wanted to use as a playroom for my 14 month old but was so scared of her banging her head on the stone. This product is wonderful and works great! It is worth ever penny!

I have a super active 11 month old who was getting into everything...the plants, the soil, picture frames, the fireplace, the wine rack, the toilet-- everything! My husband and I have a lot of sq footage and didn't want to drill tons of holes putting up gates everywhere. I bought this play yard to provide a safe play space for baby to play in while I cook, run to the bathroom, do some cleaning, etc. The play yard comes with 6 panels and is fine as is, but a bit small. Amazingly, my son happily played in it as is, but I felt like it was really confining. The extensions made the play yard a perfect size. There's plenty of room for toys and for baby to comfortably move around. The play yard is sturdy and he can't move it (yet) on his own. It's strong and heavy, so hopefully-- he'll never be able to move it. And, he tries. Oh, and we have it on our new hardwoods...love the rubber bottom that keeps it from scratching and gives extra traction so the play yard stays put. We haven't had to drill holes into the walls, and I have a bit of freedom to move about the house while baby happily and SAFELY plays. Get the 3 in 1, and if you have the space, get the extension. It's peace of mind and well worth the $$.

I got the original set (with door) for a larger "playpen" for my son. Well, it wasn't as large as I thought. So, I bought this extension set and now he has a huge area that is all his and keeps him safe! He likes this a lot more than the pack-n-play. It has more room and because there are "bars" rather than the pack-n-play's netting, I think he feels more part of the group and less isolated. His two big sisters get in there and play with him and there's plenty of room for all three of them. I highly recommend getting the extension for a larger play area - it really makes a huge difference!
