This is a pretty gate and the quality is good. I like that it opens easily, in both directions. It keeps my four dogs and two cats where I want them. The only suggestion I would make is that it would be nice if the gate would stay open when you want it to. We use a bungy cord, which works OK.

Great gate! Easy to install, made nicely, works well, sturdy. Only thing is because it is for children also, it is hard to open. You have to twist and lift up to open using 2 hands and strength. Not a gate if you want toddlers, young children or elderly to be able to open.

We've been using two of these for about two months now and they work quite well. It's not an easy task getting them properly adjusted for the initial set-up, and they do require adjusting from time to time, but in comparison to pretty much any of the others we've seen or tried, this is the best by a wide margin. I really like that you can adjust the gate to swing in either direction or to swing freely when grown-ups need to make a lot of trips back and forth and want to get through easily. The one-hand operation is easy to master and the real wood and sturdy hardware look much nicer than most other aluminum powder-coated models. Recommended.

I looked at a lot of gates and chose this one for it's features and style. After I received it, I was not disappointed. It is a very nice looking gate that you don't mind leaving up and the latch works very well using one hand. I also like the fact that the extensions are included; with many other gates there is an extra charge. In fact, I liked the first gate I got so much that I ordered another one a few days later. Installation was also very easy. One qualification I will make is that I am only using this as a dog barrier for two large labs, so I can't comment on how it might work for children (although I see no reason it wouldn't be just fine)

Very nice in regards to appearance. Comes close to matching our light oak baseboards.

Pros:
-Secure latching system on top and bottom
-can be expanded with extensions
-sturdy once tentioned enough
-appearance

Cons:
-top latch uses the adjustment arm tension to close. Tends to dig into drywall/oak railings
-extensions/adjusting arms not very precise. If youre off a bit you have to modify the gate

Nice gate, looks better than a lot of ones out there. Only negative is it can be difficult to open with one hand but it is doable.

This is a great gate that is very sturdy because I am on my third gate and this is the only gate that has been Able to withstand my 100 Lb Labordor Retriever. My dog has met her match. It is also a great buy for the money because I have seen really flimsy gates in stores for twice the price or more. And it is easy to assemble that one person can effortlessly put it together in no time. I was so impressed with the gate that I wrote my first review for any product that I purchased on amazon.

This gate came to my house FAST. It was easy to assemble straight out of the box. It looks good and operates smoothly--no fumbling, tripping or snagging. I bought it for an elderly person to use as a pet gate in a dim hallway and she loves it! I can't say enough good things about this gate. The folks who designed this product get an A+++++++!!!!!!!

I've been using the gate for one night now, and I was impressed enough to write a review. It was easy to install, feels solid, and looks nice. I haven't used any other gates, but this one works great. I was really excited to learn that the door swings both ways after opening in in one direction for the better half of the night. It's also really convenient that it automatically swings closed on it's own. The only thing that is a bit acquard is the latch mechanism, but I'm sure I'll get used to it and if you're kid/dog is big enough to need to constantly latch the top part you probably won't something that they can't open.

The gate looks great and works well. I don't like that we had to set it up as semi-permanent, but I wanted something with ease of operation and that looked nice.
The gate is supposed to fit a doorway as small as 28", ours is 28.5 and it did not fit without modifications to the hardware. We had to cut down the bolts and remove a bumper to get it to fit in the doorway.
It works great and looks great, but was a pain to install.
