You can spend a lot of money on a buffing machine if you're so inclined, but if you're a novice (like me) or have only occasional polishing needs, this machine will do wonders. I find it to be a safer and more convenient alternative to adapting my bench grinder to buff, so I'm quite satisfied.

1- Arbor is 3 inch long, proved to be too short for the job, but that was my fault I should've planned better
2- The toothed part of the arbor is 1.25 in, works fine to mount cloth wheels but is extremely difficult to mount a 1in scotchBright wheel ( add the thickness of 2 washers and the nut), that's a big manufacturing mistake. I had to go find thinner and smaller in diameter washers and the wheel ended up being very wably.
3- 1/2 HP not powerful enough. I used brown compound on the spiral sewn cotton wheel and it was stopping the wheel frequently, worked fine with flannel wheel and the red compound. The buffers that accept 8in wheels are usually more powerful.
4- more wheel options are available for the 3/4in arbor, search the wheel you going to need before buying the buffer.

better than expected. got the first one for a gift, just ordered one for myself

it spins fast and is not loud. it dose vibrate if you don't have it bolted down to a workbench.
