5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent product for me
This unit works perfectly for my application. I have 20 low voltage units from the back of the house to the barn on one line using lcd bulbs. The unit is on the east side of the house but gets no sunshine at all due to being in the redwoods. It is always shady and often foggy. The unit turns lights on at dust and sometimes when the fog is very thick. I have it set to...

3.0 out of 5 stars Great idea, but on cloudy days...
Unless there's a photo cell problem, which I doubt, be extra aware of the location of this Xformer. I bought 2, and the one I placed in open view of the south facing sky, turns on, in broad daylight when it's mostly cloudy, like this morning. The other one, located in a shadier area comes on even more so, on a cloudy day.

I needed to replace the controller after an electrical surge (snow storm) fried most of the electronics in an around the house.

The replacement controller works well.

The transformer connected easily and hangs well from a nail on the wall. It is great to have the lights turn on and off automatically with the changing hours of daylight versus having to change a timer as the daylight changes through summer and winter.

1.0 out of 5 stars Works fine if you light your garden during the day, March 22, 2011

I have tried two different types of photo sensor timers and both suffer from the same problem of turning on as soon as the sun goes behind the tree - usually around 2 in the afternoon. I've tried adjusting the sensitivity of the sensor but to no avail. I was smart enough to return the first one in time but I got the paradise as part of a kit. The rest of the lights in the kit work fine but I can't stand the timer. I'm shopping now for an old fashioned timer where I specify the on and off times and don't have to rely on a sensor that gets confused by night & day.
