I have a used a lot of other Paradise Lighting products over the past decade. The design is generally comparable to Malibu or significantly better. What is bad, however, is they reek of being made in China. The quality is really astonishingly poor. For example, the slots in the screws are only about 1/32" of an inch (so you have to use a wrench), and all the pieces fit together poorly and wobbly. One set I bought had casting defects so bad, they went clean through the housing. (Amazon was good about the return, though.) Despite being of such poor quality, I really like them because, in my book, they are cheap and disposable. Yard lights usually corrode and the aluminum disintegrates within 5 years or so anyway. The only other alternative is non-cast aluminum yard lighting which cost 5X or more. These lights are very nice looking and very compact, so they are unobtrusive. They can also hold a real MR11 halogen bulb. I recommend you throw away the junk bulbs that come with them and put in MR11 bulbs which are easily 2X or 3X more efficient. Then, you have something very cheap and energy efficient (I use mostly 5W MR11 bulbs), and when it dies--no big deal.

This is a new feature I am experimenting with for front yard landscaping. The items arrived in a timely manner, were well protected in shipping, and should be a great addition to the illumination package I have for the yard.

These lights are attractive and seem to function well.I have them scattered in landscaping around a Koi pond. I have them on an automatic timer and they are on dusk to dawn. They are very easy to install and inexpensive. Even if they only last a year or two and need to be replaced, I will be more than satisfied with their quality and value. They have not failed to function during a hurricane and the rainiest September ever on record in my area. If they didn't short out under those conditions, I expect that they will last.
