A Son's Discussion on His Father,
By Jeffrey W. Smith (London) - See all my reviews
This review is from: From a Northern Window, A Personal Reminiscence of George MacDonald (Masterline Series Volume 1) (Paperback)
This heartfelt, biographical text on George MacDonald was orignially published as an essay entitled "George MacDonald, a Personal Note" by Ronald MacDonald, George MacDonald's son. Michael Phillips has since found and republished the essay as a small book for his "Masterline Series" (texts concerning the life and works of George MacDonald). This was a excellent work to be republished, especially since it had not been previously published in the States. Unfortunately, it now appears to be falling out of print and will soon be hard to acquire.
It is my recommendation, therefore, for any student or lover of George MacDonald's life and works to heavily consider purchasing this text. Although the writer comes across as overly-sentimental towards his father's legacy, his words are genuine and cast additional light on MacDonald as a person. This particular text is a thin, paperback book and appears to be well made with thick, good quality paper. |
