I will say in advance, I am NOT someone who generally has cold feet. I don't tend to care what boots I'm wearing, as most of them are fine for me. Bottom line, I'm not that picky. That said, I'm pleased with these. I like the style and these were a good deal. They were cheap and seem fairly warm. They remind me a glorified version of something I might find on the rack at kmart or something. The quality isn't going to blow you away, but they are not bad either.

concerns:

1. I hate removable liners. The price was low enough that I went ahead anyway on these but I wish the liners had a clip, snap, or button to keep them in the boot. They do not, so every time I try and take them off the liner comes right out first.

2. I have WIDE feet. The reviewer who said they run small is correct. But I want to clarify, in my experience they run small BUT not narrow. There's a big difference for many of us with wide feet. I tend to order 1 whole size larger to try and accomodate my width (and generally some larger socks). I was VERY surprised when these were close to correct in length. They certainly seem to run smaller in length then most brands. As I said though, many times that also comes with narrow width. On these it didn't. They seem plenty wide and comfortable for me.

I should have known better by the price, but decided to try them anyway. This is the most uncomfortable boot I have ever worn and since I'm a former Soldier I know a bit about boots. This boot has a removable insert that comes out when you take the boot off whether you want it to or not. After the first week in them I couldn't take it anymore. I was in snow up to my calf, and although they kept the snow out I noticed the inside of the boot under the insert was wet, yes they hold moisture which is way bad for single digit weather. If you want to waste money go ahead and buy these!

JAN 2014--I was worried about a few of the reviews that stated that this boot was of flimsy quality. I don't agree. I received my pair just in time for a serious winter storm in the north east with snow and ice galore. These $65 boots are the real deal. They kept my feet warm and dry in quite a lot of snow and ice here. The tread on the bottom has proven to be slip-proof so far on both thin ice sheets and the thick stuff with uneven ridges. THE FIT: I take an 8 in men's but have a narrow foot. These boots fit really well. If your foot is wider than narrow C or average D width, you should maybe get a size up. People complained about the removable boot liner, but I love it. After the first 2 or 3 wears, I can get my feet in the liner while it's in the boot with no problem. The first few times I needed to put the liner on first and then stick my foot in the boot. Also, if the liner feels uncomfortable at all, pull it tighter around your foot while it's in the boot. An uncomfortable liner means you haven't pulled it all the way on your foot properly. The liner will come out as you're removing the boots, but so what. I like that I can wash the liners and I can even use them on double duty to make my un-lined rain boots warmer, if need be. I bought a pair of LL Bean winter boots for more than twice the price I paid for these Northside and these Northside boots win on fit, level of comfort (I played a long gig with my band in them on a stormy night over the weekend) and weight (they're light while still being warm). These boots are a great value and also get the job of keeping your feet warm and dry done in spades. Buy them.

I got these boots quickly and at a fair price, thats the best part. The overall quality is nice and the boot is clearly designed to last and withstand some cold weather and snow. After closer inspection, I came to notice that the insulation sock inside one boot was coming apart at the heel seam and the same boot had a seam split in the tongue. Due to these problems I ended up sending the boots back, but had the problems not existed, I'd have kept them & been very happy. It was most likely a fluke, but I can't have brand new boots that are falling apart. This is the first time I've returned a product and I have to say that Amazon made the process very painless.

Kept my feet warm in 14 degree weather while sitting still for a couple hours. Can't ask much more for the price.

My husband is outside so much in the winter whether it's snow blowing or whatever. After a flood in my basement this past summer ruined his old boots, getting new ones were at the top of the list in getting ready for the winter. He loved his old boots and for the last 17 years all I heard was how nice his old winter boots were, because they could go out in subzero temps and way back in the days when he bought them for the equivalent of a small car today. So believe me, when I say----that I never thought I could replace his beloved flooded boots, but he is as happy as a kid with a new toy and wears them everywhere, except to bed, that is where I draw the line.

Nothing you can stand in a running creek for any length of time and stay dry - but for walking around briefly in snow and rain, these seem to be able to do the job. Treat the leather with some water proofing (sno seal) and you would be better off, especially around the leather/rubber boarder.

Bought these for my son who will outgrow them before next season, so they are good enough.
