4.0 out of 5 stars big button telephone
The phone arrived within a week and it works just fine. Some feedback on other comments written would be while the phone does take 2 batteries, the phone works without them. It's just to save any stored phone numbers in case something happens that causes your phone line to have no power. If you don't store any numbers, then you don't need batteris. 3.0 out of 5 stars Northwestern Bell Big Button Phone
I am basically happy with this phone. It works very well, the ring tone is good and I enjoy the memory feature which does save a lot of time. The numbers and letters really are big and I can use this phone without using my glasses. However, it accidentally fell on the floor and the buttons popped out. I don't think this was supposed to happen. Also, it is not a very...

4.0 out of 5 stars big button telephone, December 8, 2007
This review is from: Northwestern Bell Big-Button Corded Phone Plus with 13-Number Memory (20200-1) (Office Product)
The phone arrived within a week and it works just fine. Some feedback on other comments written would be while the phone does take 2 batteries, the phone works without them. It's just to save any stored phone numbers in case something happens that causes your phone line to have no power. If you don't store any numbers, then you don't need batteris. I also thought using the speaker phone option that even with the volume all the way up, it still didn't seem loud enough. If you purchase the phone that you think is in Ivory, it will be white when it arrives. I think that's the only color they have. Unlike other big button phones I've seen in the store, this Northwestern Bell felt like a "real" telephone. The other brands (including big name companys) seem very light weight and have a cheap feel to them. Also the Bell handset fits in the cradle firmly, other phones I've seem the ear piece sat in the cradle well but the mouth piece end just laid on top of the phone and you could easily knock the handset off the cradle without knowing it and loose connection.

The numbers and letters really are big and I can use this phone without using my glasses. However, it accidentally fell on the floor and the buttons popped out. I don't think this was supposed to happen. Also, it is not a very sturdy phone. It is too lightweight and flimsy. All in all, though, I would buy this phone again. It is well worth the price I paid for it and it does a good job!

Bought for my mother. SHE LOVES IT. She is an older lady and really appreciates it. With the onset of eye problems she finds it easy to use with good sound quality and not a lot of extra buttons to worry her.

The cord would not stay connected to the handset. I believe since these are old overstock phones the storage for these may have been in an uncotrolled envrironment with the result being a defective product. I returned it and received a new one with the same result. I recomment the ATT phone from Sears with the big buttons. This is not a reflection of Amazon doing a bad job. The customer service was excellent. I continue to purchase products from Amazon.

This phone is solid. It reminds me of the phones that were issued by Ma Bell way back when. It has good sound quality, easy to use and intuitive controls. I bought it for my father who is hard of hearing. It's not as loud as I had expected; hence, 4 stars instead of 5.

5.0 out of 5 stars nice phone, great price, June 8, 2010

The phone appears well built & was in spotless condition. Installed in minutes & has good sound quality.
The price on the phone was nearly too good to believe.
I would recommend this to anyone who needs a big number phone. My mother, aged 98 is the actual user, and with her limited vision she can still see & dial.

3.0 out of 5 stars A basically good, functional phone whose effectiveness is marred by a lack of thoughtful design., August 14, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Northwestern Bell Big-Button Corded Phone Plus with 13-Number Memory (20200-1) (Office Product)
Firstly --this is a good basic phone -my Dad is 94 & legally blind due to macular degeneration & can't see the buttons on a regular phone-- I glued plastic dots on the buttons so he can feel the keys and for basic calls it works fine (There is a braille model available but dad went blind @92 & has not learned braille). My gripes are with the design which reflect a lack of thought or engineers who weren't the tops in their classes. To wit; the inclusion of one touch emergency dialing is excellent; however it's effectiveness is undermined by the fact that the emergency buttons are 1/8 the size of the number buttons(?)a great idea & easy to use -if you can see them--I'm no engineer but I thought the point of this phone was ease of use for the visually impaired. Also, memory dial is a great feature however on this phone it requires a 2 button combination while on many phones one button is all that is required (press and hold 1 button) AND the memory button that must be pressed in combination with a number button is nestled cozily amongst the emergency dial buttons --Einstein is dead, obviously. I couldn't even broach w/ my dad the memory dial function for fear of his dialing the police or fire dept while trying to dial his grand-kids. A basically good, functional phone whose effectiveness is marred by a lack of thoughtful design. Ideally NW Bell would consult with the sight impaired or an advocate in the design of such a phone --until then we'll just have to make do.

I ordered this phone for my mother for Christmas. It was delivered while she was out of town for the holidays so it took a couple weeks for her to try to use it. Turns out it was defective, but she didn't tell me right away. She is unable to get a dial tone. By the time she told me, it was too late to return it. This company only allows 30 days to return defective items, requires all packing materials to be included and does not cover return shipping even if the item is defective. Don't risk it unless you will be there to stay on top of the situaion and are willing to pay to return a defective product.
