This review is from: Northwestern Bell Corded Phone with AM/FM Clock Radio and Alarm (28501) (Office Product)
I recently purchased this unit after looking for a replacement for my 15-year old Panasonic telephone-alarm-clock-radio. Strangely, there don't seem to be many of these multi-function units out there anymore. Having read reviews on several GE models and others, I was not encouraged. Eventually I came upon this Northwest Bell unit which was very reasonably-priced and seemed to have all the features I was looking for.
Having used this unit for a couple of weeks now, I can say that I'm very happy with the purchase. The unit is very attractive and compact, perfect for a bedroom night-table. I was especially surprised by the remarkably good radio reception (which probably owes to a small antenna wire on the back of the unit). I have only two minor quibbles with the unit: the telephone key-pad doesn't illuminate in the dark (a bit of a drawback since the unit is designed for and used in a bedroom), and the fairly loud ringer volume is not adjustable - you can only turn the ringer on or off. Those two negatives aside, I definitely recommend this unit for anyone looking for such a multi-function unit.

Can't see the clock from bed and too loud!,

One naturally assumes that a telephone/clock/radio/alarm with snooze is essentially designed for being next to the bed. However, in bed, you can't see the clock. While the product is well made, has good radio reception and the phone works well the product is down-rated because the angle of the clock's numerals is such that they may only be seen when sitting upright or standing next to the clock. You can also not see the time from across the room. Additionally, the ringer is either on or off, nothing in between. The volume of the ringer is jarring. All things considered I cannot use this as a bedside clock and must return it.

I am pleased,
This review is from: Northwestern Bell Corded Phone with AM/FM Clock Radio and Alarm (28501) (Office Product)
I purchased this alarm clock/radio/phone after sending another brand back to the store where I purchased it. I like this one much better because it has all of the features that I wanted. The display is easy to read and the phone keypad is easy to see and operate. (I have some problems with my vision). Also, the radio dial is easy to see. I am not crazy about the shape of the phone, it takes up a bit too much space on a small nightstand, also the off/on buttons are in an awkward place. Overall, I am satisfied with this phone and think that it is fairly priced.

WAS LOOKING FOR A PHONE/CLOCK TO SAVE SPACE ON MY NIGHT TABLE. WORKS GREAT AND EXPECTED NOT TO HAVE CERTAIN FEATURES SINCE I READ OTHER REVIEWS FIRST. NO VOLUME SWITCH ON RINGER, JUST ON AND OFF ALSO NUMBERS ON CLOCK HARD TO SEE WHEN LIGHT IS ON. OTHERWISE I AM VERY HAPPY. ALSO GOT ONE FOR THE OTHER NIGHT TABLE SO MY HUSBAND AND I NOW HAVE OUR OWN PHONES AND CLOCK RADIOS. TRANSACTION WAS EASY AND GOT PRODUCT VERY QUICKLY.

Corded Phone with AM/FM radio-alarm,
This review is from: Northwestern Bell Corded Phone with AM/FM Clock Radio and Alarm (28501) (Office Product)
The phone works great, along with the radio and alarm. The only draw back
is that the led isn't bright enough, the ringer can not be turned down, and the buttons on the phone don't light up, so at night you can't see the key pad...

Everything is OK, but one: it's not a good idea to provide white colored phone with a black electric cord.

The information is misleading. The phone does not have a dual alarm. It has an alarm dual mode. The phone handset does not light up nor does the phone have called ID. Not happy and returning the phone.

Very happy with the purchase... only problem is reading time from across the room. Numbers somewhat slanted but other wise good quality and excellent price!

Phone/clock radio--poor design,
This review is from: Northwestern Bell Corded Phone with AM/FM Clock Radio and Alarm (28501) (Office Product)
I purchased this to replace an old phone/clock radio. The old one had a far superior design to this one. Specifically, the on/off/alarm switch is on the side and awkward to use, setting the alarm and clock is time consuming because you can only change it forward, not back and forth, shutting off the alarm is also problematic because it is a single button that must be held down for a second or so. My old one went off when you moved the phone off the cradle, a better design.
All in all, I should have looked more carefully at the features prior to purchase but hard to do on line. |
