It sharpens...
I have one of these sharpener and they just work. My knives come out super sharp very fast. The only issue is that they do scratch your knives. Otherwise they do what they are supposed to do really well

Don't waste your $$...
Slides, slips, knife sticks in slot...completely worthless. There are much better sharpeners out there, save your money and buy a better usable one!! (one star was too generous, but it's the only way to leave my review!)

Want a simple, effective, inexpensive knife sharpener? This is it. It is deceptively simple.....I've watched my sister sharpen her knives on this over the years (she's had it about 10 years) with envy. The knives come out sharp and it works very quickly. We finally found one on line and ordered it. I really am glad I have it. I wish I had ordered 2.
