Includes works by canonical British and American female writers and poets. Relatively few African, Middle-eastern, or Asian female writers. Recommend you look elsewhere if you are studying women writers from one of the above regions.

This book was required for my college course. Even so, it is surprisingly worth reading for those interested in women authors and their works. It has a sampling of most eras, including modern. It also includes a mini-bio of each author. It includes excerpts from novels, short stories, essays, speeches, and poems.

This was exactly what was described as I needed it for my college Intro to Womens Literature class and the boxed set was paperback and wrapped in plastic. Very pleased with my purchase.

I needed these books for a Women's Literature class. The price was wonderful as my school was selling them $55 each used. The material is not really my cup of tea, but it has been very informative.
