5.0 out of 5 stars Great Value November 2, 2010

I have been using Norton to protect my computers since the 80's. Since I am a long time repeat customer, that says it all. I have tried others that worked well, but found that Norton was the least intrusive. Going about it's business in the back ground and leaving me alone. I really like the ability to turn off Norton anti-virus from the task bar when I'm installing new software, instead of burrowing down thru clicks and clicks to turn it off on it's home page. Buying this combo saves me time, effort and money. I only have to watch for one date of renewal on my computers. I used to write on my disks which one went to which computer. No longer - one disk for all! Do you own more than one computer and have been buying the single version for each one? Then you already are aware of the great value of this combo.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Antivirus December 12, 2010
Access Method:Box| Platform for Display:PC Disc|Verified Purchase
Throughout the years I have used several programs to protect home computers from the usual threats of surfing the web; although no Antivirus is bullet proof against every possible virus or hacker, not having an up to date antivirus is welcoming trouble.

This new version compares to similar entries of other vendors, and most of the basic features are shared in all the programs. Once installed and configured, Norton Antivirus 2011 will be an automated application, downloading updates, running background scans and showing alerts of downloaded files or informing about Trojans in files that you want to execute.

5.0 out of 5 stars The BEST! November 7, 2010
Access Method:Box| Platform for Display:PC Disc|Verified Purchase
I've been using AVG since 2006 and I always end up sending junk emails through my Yahoo account. I installed AVG + Spybot Destroy & Search and nothing has been detected until I decided to have a go at Norton. I remember I used Norton Anti-virus a long time ago but it was so CPU intensive that I went through AVG. When I first installed it detected a major Trojan Horse and lots of suspicious cookies. I've never had any problem at all on my PC and I've never sent any junk mail at all. It's absolutely recommended to anyone wanting a reliable anti-virus and it's not CPU intensive anymore, that's why I give it five stars!

1.0 out of 5 stars Piece of Trash May 7, 2011
Access Method:Box| Platform for Display:PC Disc|Verified Purchase
I had an expiring Norton Antivirus product with 19 days left. I learned from many reviews that Norton actually rips off longtime subscribers by charging more for renewals than for new software. So, with 19 days left on my old subscription, I uninstalled the old product and tried installing this new one. After I installed this completely new product that I had paid for, it still insisted that I had only 19 days left on my subscription! Equally bad, the seller disclaims liability for software that won't work. This software is a great advertisement for switching to McAfee. I'm fed up with endless and expensive headaches from Norton. Buyer beware!

1.0 out of 5 stars Annoying product February 15, 2011
Access Method:Box|Platform for Display:PC Disc
This software came pre-loaded on my PC. Every now and then it pops up a message saying "Norton is performing background checks". Highly annoying, and it offers no option of turning it off. The last thing you want when you are watching a movie or reading something to be periodically interrupted by your smart-ass virus scanner to tell you that it is working hard for you.

2.0 out of 5 stars Do your homework before buying... November 29, 2010
By William
Access Method:Thin Software Download|Platform for Display:PC Download
I bought the software in a moment of panic, and really wish I'd taken the time to ask friends and family what they used and did about computer security.

The software probably does protect you from viruses, but it does a far better job at begging your for personal information at inopportune times, or letting you know that it's doing some menial task while you're in the middle of watching a movie.

As far as I (and a couple of internet forums I checked) could tell, there's no way to decline registration of the software. If you don't register, you'll get a reminder at least once a week suggesting you do so. I found that pretty intrusive.

3.0 out of 5 stars Works but no password manager December 11, 2010
By lsofhb
Access Method:Box|Platform for Display:PC Disc
Product works fine, but didn't realize that it lacks the password manager feature of Norton 360. Makes a big difference to us because there are so many password-entry sites and it's hard to remember what that site required. No problems with ordering through Amazon. Price was good.

I have been using Norton Anti Virus for at least 10 to 15 years.
I tried to install it on my new Dell XPS 8100 would not install.
I called support and they told me they could help if I wanted to pay them $39.99. I refused.
By the way I already had Norton AV 2010 installed on this computer - had 1 day left on original license.

So I uninstalled Norton from all of my computers and I downloaded and installed Microsoft Security Essentials - IT IS FREE
