Fascinating History in a Hurry, July 17, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: The Norton Book of Interviews: An Anthology from 1859 to the Present Day (Hardcover)
Just an incredible read. Gertrude Stein's advice to writers is worth the price of the book. You also get Hitler, Stalin, Scott Fitzgerald, Mae West, Arthur Miller -- etc. The interviews are from four to 15 pages long and all written by different people. Some appeared in newspapers first. You can easily pick this book up and read a little, and then pick it up again in a week or two, or keep it as a reference.

A journalistic chocolate box, September 28, 1997
By A Customer
This review is from: The Norton Book of Interviews: An Anthology from 1859 to the Present Day (Hardcover)
This book is a journalistic chocolate box for the general reader. For journalists, it is a landmark study of the evolution of one of the key techniques of the profession. As such, it should have a place on the syllabus of every journalism school.
