Run! Save yourself!,

This review is from: Norton 360 Version 3.0 All-In-One Total Security 3 User 2 Year (CD-ROM)
Norton 360 is an utter disaster. You will lose the ability to right-click, as doing so causes Windows Explorer to crash, every time, if this program is installed.
This was true for me on two separate machines, both less than a year old.

Terrible product!,

I had been a loyal Norton customer for over 12 years. In the past I would have recommended their products. Not so with Norton 360 V2 or anything else. This product comes with a backup feature which allows you to put your files on a disk or online. I backed up my files using DVDs. When I tried to access the backup files, they would not open. Of course for security reasons, they were in some form of a Norton protected format. Nothing but Norton will open them and even the Norton program would not work! I exchanged numerous emails/chats with Norton tech support for over four (4) months, with no fix for the problem! I tried phone support, but it was far too costly and was as worthless as their chat and email services. From exchanging the numerous emails/chats, it was obvious to me that the tech support persons were just sending prewritten answers. They were not even reading most of my emails and sent many repeat 'solutions' that I had already told them did not work. Shortly after the fourth month, my software expired. Now I have several DVDs, full of important backup files, that I will never be able to access! Run from this company and their products! Like some other big name brands, they are not what they used to be; not even close! Three words: Buy Trend Micro.

Run don't walk away from NAV 360 2.0,
By Mr. Howard (Los Angeles, CA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Norton 360 Version 3.0 All-In-One Total Security 3 User 2 Year (CD-ROM)
I thought I would never write this. I've been a loyal Norton Antivirus user for more than 10 years. I always assumed I was protected but apparently I was not. Over the past few weeks my computer started acting funny yet a full scan with NAV said it was just "fine". I had my supicions so I checked with Yahoo's free toolbar virus sweeper and found my PC was infected with the Kollah trojan virus. That was funny. NAV 360 couldn't find the virus, let alone remove it. The Yahoo toolbar sweeper could find the virus but was unfortunately unable to remove it. In the end I bought PC Tools Spyware Doctor and it took care of the problem. I am really dissapointed with Norton and this product. I am no longer going to use NAV in any of my PCs at home or work.

DO NOT BUY! Worst Norton Product EVER!,
By
This review is from: Norton 360 Version 3.0 All-In-One Total Security 3 User 2 Year (CD-ROM)
I have been an avid Norton Symantec user for over 13 years. This is the worst product EVER. It slows your system down so much that I had to disable most of the features, which an average user will not know how to do.
My biggest complaint is that once the "virus update" expires.. it renders the entire software useless. I couldn't even go in and make simple changes to the settings, nothing to do with the virus update feature. PLUS A pop-up comes up everyday twice a day begging me to buy another year subscription. That is false. What they are really asking is that I buy the software again. Once a year is up .. you might as well throw it in the trash OR give it to someone else OR wipe your hard drive and install a fresh copy. I am not happy with it at all! I will never buy any anti-virus or internet security software from this company again. I have heard of complaints that it will crash your system the day it expires. Uninstalling any Norton products are difficult and you should find a good article on the internet on how to do this. NOTE: You must uninstall any anti-virus software if you are installing a different brand.

It seems to work about the same as the previous version. The price that Symantec charges for it is pretty steep, that is why I bought through Amazon, instead of renewing with them.
My only complaint is that instead of enhancing the product in the newest version, they actually took away. The back-up portion of this software no longer allows you to back-up an external drive, only your C: drive. The reason... I discovered it was because they want you to buy Norton Ghost, which allows you to do this. I hate to say it, but I did buy Ghost. Ghost does have more backup functionality than the previous backup options on the old 360, and one upside is that you don't have to renew it every year, it is yours to use for as long as you want. They should have never taken the external drive back-up functionality away from 360. Your external drives are no different than your internal, they need to be backed up.
