5.0 out of 5 stars good quality and function, January 9, 2008
This review is from: Norton Waterstone, 1000 grit, 1" x 3" x 8" in Blue Plastic Hinged Box (Misc.)
I have used a Norton carborundum oil stone for 30 years to sharpen tools and kitchen knives. This was the first water stone I have used and I have been very pleased with the results. It is a good size for large (8" chef's knives) knives and cuts fast and cleans up easily. I also bought a lapping stone to flatten the water stone (water stones wear faster than oil stones), but I hven't used it yet. The stone I bought was a combination with 1000x and something finer, but I don't see any combo stones on the Amazon site.

This review is from: Norton Waterstone, 1000 grit, 1" x 3" x 8" in Blue Plastic Hinged Box (Misc.)
This is a nice fast cutting stone. It is consistant and is just as easy to maintain as any other waterstone. It is priced well and lasts as long as most other 1000 grit waterstones.

Overall a good value.
