We have been traveling back and forth to Germany for 15 years. We usually rent a car and our first road map was a Michelin from 1995. So on this last trip we also spent time in Norway, so again, purchased a Michelin brand map of Norway. The lack of detail is what kills this map's usefulness. Which is odd because it is a huge map and there is certainly plenty of room for details. If you only need the major highways it's fine. But you will find that there are LOTS of smaller roads and byways out there that are just not on this map. Just to make sure we were covered map-wise, we had also purchased a "Hammond International Norway / Sweden" road map. The maps are like night and day. The Hammond was much more detailed, showing many more roads than the Michelin and the road numbers were easy to read. The Hammond came back from the trip very well used while the Michelin looks new.

I agree with the lone reviewer that Michelin missed the boat on this one. Lots of small towns and back roads are missing, the railroad is barely marked, and the city maps of Oslo and Bergen are not city maps but just zooms of the area around.
Very disappointing -- I am returning mine.
