Soft Serve Ice Cream From Home,
By Meritt (Midwest) - See all my reviews It was! The drum must be in the freezer for at least 24 hours before you want to make ice cream so I immediately washed and dried it and placed it in our freezer where we have decided to 'store' it so the kids can make ice cream whenever they desire it without having to wait. Ingredients are simple; milk, cream, sugar and vanilla. It took about 25-28 minutes of churning but the ice cream was stiff and perfect. It was not 'melty' or too soft. It was perfectly 'soft serve' just like you get at a restaurant. You leave the machine running to force it to dispense from below. The only thing I wish I could change is to have it dispense in a constant flow as McDonalds or similar can do, but because the paddle is what dispenses the ice cream it comes out in 1-2 inch 'strips' with each pass of the plastic paddle from the inside. Soft Serve in less than 30 minutes with quick clean up and easy storage (especially if you keep the drum in the freezer!).

carnival ice cream maker,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
You HAVE to use whole milk. Also, it helps if you put the ice cream mixture in the freezer for about 30 minutes before you use the machine, then it works well.

Nice to look at - not an adequate ice cream maker.,
By I've found that most of the variety of appliances from Nostalgia Electronics/Helman Group fall just short of being adequate. My unit didn't cool the ice cream enough to make ice cream. It was kind of in the state of "melting" ice cream and very "liquidy". If you want something that looks old fashioned, it's pretty decent. If you want something practical, it isn't.
