For anyone considering this popcorn maker, know that you get what you pay for.

I wanted a nostalgic looking kettle popcorn maker, that made decent popcorn at a reasonable price. What I recieved is exactly what I expected.

Pro's

It makes popcorn FAST. Ive never had a machine make popcorn this fast without burning it. Plug it in, let it warm for 2 minutes, add your oil and seeds, and 30 seconds later you have fresh popcorn.

It looks every part of a classic kettle machine, which is why most of you are looking at this. It's medium sized, not so tiny that it is pointless and not so bulky that it doesnt fit anywhere.

Con's

So here is my " you get what you pay for" part. It's all plastic, including all the hinges ( I can see these breaking if you are not careful )

The top covers to the kettle are a little too lightweight, when the first seeds start popping about 1/10th of what you put in comes out without popping because the top flaps let the seeds shoot out. I am currently testing putting some tiny magnetic wieghts on them to see how it works.

The amount of popcorn it makes is about enough for 1-2 people. To get what they show in the photo, you need to fill and run the kettle 3 times.

As with almost any popcorn maker, it is a pain to clean. I wish these companies thought of this, as an easy to clean popcorn machine would sell like crazy.

Over all I give this machine 4 stars. I like it a lot, and for what I paid, I am happy. If you are looking for a stury kettle machine with glass windows, a larger kettle, and metal hinges, you will be paying triple what this one costs or more.

Apparently on these machines some hold up and some don't. It doesn't even seem to matter what brand. This model of ours is working well after a year at least, more than we can say for the Great Northern one we got before. I gave it a 4 because the front latch is very cheaply made and broke soon after we got it. I used two magnets you peel and stick and that works fine. As I have said before it still makes popcorn so we are happy with it. The makers of the home popcorn machines need to make them better. These are for homes and need to last longer. At least stand behind what you make!

So far so good. My wife wanted a popcorn maker that uses oil so I found this and the price was right. Made the first batch the day we received it and everything works as it should.

I received this as a gift and have now owned it about 6 months. I use it about twice a week. It makes popcorn but has several major drawbacks. It wastes a lot of seeds. Up to half of the seeds don't pop but are "spit" out of the kettle. The popcorn jams sometimes even after one use. It jams because it needs cleaning, but it should work for more than one use. I have tried multiple types of oil (though I prefer colored coconut) and it doesn't matter, it jams. When it does jam, the gears will stick and may cause your handle to break the connector and spin freely. When this happens, there is no way to dump the popcorn but manually. Eventually the pin connector loosened so much that it just fell out and then the kettle would have nothing to hold it up. Fortunately, I am fairly handy and was able to rig it up to work again. The warranty is worthless on this thing. Even though it is a clear defect in the construction of the unit, they won't stand by their product.
Fortunately it was a gift. When I replace it will be with a better model from a different company.

The picture is very deceiving. It is much smaller than it looks and you really can't judge it's size by the kettle measurement. It's kinda confusing....... It's 2.5 oz. kettle that makes X amount of cups of popcorn. Then you try to find appropriate bags and they are measured in oz. 's again. We're going to use it, but, I was thinking it was going to be a lot bigger than it is. We are going to sell popcorn at a little school flea market program. We'll just have to keep popping and popping to make up for the small output. I hope the actual machine will hold up through repeated use.

Product arrived broken.. Luckily I could still use the motor, so ended up taking it apart and salvaging that part.

Bought this machine for my office. It has been a nightmare. About 5 kernals of popcorn will spit out and nothing else. The rest of the popcorn just sits in the kettle and burns. I emailed Nostalgia to get information on how to return it. They told me it is brand new and I am not using it correctly! Ok, so I try working with the settings like they suggest. Same outcome. Now I am still waiting on instructions on how to return this item. I am extremely displeased with this company and will not be making any purchases again. I hope to hear from them soon, but I'm not going to hold my breath.
