4.0 out of 5 stars Snow Cone Awesomeness
I was worried after reading the reviews after my purchase instead of beforehand, but I was glad I bought this snow cone machine anyway. It's extremely cute, just the right size for the family, easy to clean, and it shaves ice quickly. We've had no problems after several uses.

Someone mentioned warping blades, but that's probably due to overstuffing or...

1.0 out of 5 stars it looks pretty but it's a piece of junk
I purchased this and it did'nt even last 1 week, I followed the 5 minute instructions, related to use, at first the rotating blades warped, then the door fell off. I attempted to contact NOSTALGIA ELECTRONICS FOR replacement parts, no luck, no email, no response. SO PEOPLE DON'T MAKE THE MISTAKE I MADE. I went and purchased another snowcone machine from Rival, actually...

I was worried after reading the reviews after my purchase instead of beforehand, but I was glad I bought this snow cone machine anyway. It's extremely cute, just the right size for the family, easy to clean, and it shaves ice quickly. We've had no problems after several uses.

Someone mentioned warping blades, but that's probably due to overstuffing or something. Just drop in ice cubes and let it go. I tried putting in too much ice and even that didn't stop it from working.

Most other ice shavers require you to freeze cylinders of water, and they make extra-smooth shaved ice, but not enough to handle two kids or more.

5.0 out of 5 stars Didn't regret this purchase., July 17, 2009

I too was skeptical about buying this snow cone maker after reading some of the reviews but I'm glad I chose this one. It works great. It is a little loud but that is the only negative thing I would say. It grinds the ice just right for snow cones. I purchased a back to basics snow cone maker and it shaved the ice too fine (even on coarse). It was almost like snow and most of it melted right after I poured the syrup on it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Snow Cone Machine...only orked once...UGH!!!, August 12, 2009
This review is from: Nostalgia Electrics RSM-602 Retro Series Snow Cone Machine (Kitchen)
Bought it for my daughter's birthday...praciced a few days ahead and made snow cones. Worked alright, but did often get "stuck" on ice pieces...WHen I tried to use it for the party a week later, did not work at all...it would run but would make a grinding noise and not shave the ice at all...needless to say, I had very disappointed children! I have a friend who was at the party and said she had exactly the same thing happen with that machine!

1.0 out of 5 stars looks good only, July 20, 2009
This review is from: Nostalgia Electrics RSM-602 Retro Series Snow Cone Machine (Kitchen)
bought one from target and it's a disappointment. priced way too high for the quality of this product. took too long to shave the ice and the shaved ice is almost just like the crushed ice from our fridge. the blade also rusted after one time use. i returned it the next day to target and bought hamilton and rival brand. hamilton is cheaper than this one but the quality/performance is exactly the same. rival is the cheapest ...$18.00 but by far the best. it's faster and the shaved ice are finer. it's very easy to use too.....esp for the kids. i have had it for 2 months now and still no rusty blade.

1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible - Plastic Gears, my son very dissapointed - Dont waste your money, December 19, 2009

Terrible, terrible terrible. This thing worked well for 10 minutes. Then it kept getting stuck on the ice cubes. I even let the ice cubes melt a little to soften them up - then I fed them one by one, and it still got stuck!. The plastic cheap gears then went and after about a half hour, the whole thing was worthless. And my 7 year old son was very dissapointed. What a birthday gift.
Don't waste your money. Read all the bad reviews. The good reviews just tout on how good of a deal this is. Makes you very suspicious as to who is posting the good reviews... the sellers maybe? Really, I'm mad and dissapointed. Don't waste your money.

I purchased this as a present for my husband who really wanted a sno-cone machine to replace one that we had for 7 years. I decided to go for this better looking more expensive model. Boy, was I wrong. It does not work right. The ice tub won't lock in place, so the whole thing shakes and makes a terrible noise. The blades rusted the very first time we tried to use it. I wish I had bought the cheaper version of this machine that worked great for years and never rusted. I am getting to return it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sno Cone Maker a Birthday Hit!, June 10, 2009
By
This review is from: Nostalgia Electrics RSM-602 Retro Series Snow Cone Machine (Kitchen)
My granddaughter wanted a sno cone maker for her birthday and after much searching I decided on this machine and I'm glad I did! It made many treats at the party and continues to provide pleasure for her and her friends. The fact that you can make many cones at a time is a big plus and the sno lasts a while in the machine while you are serving and making the cones. I am very happy with this purchase.
